I slept so hard on this wash and go and it keeps on bouncing back. If I had bothered to wear a bonnet it might look better but I'm loving the carefree fluffy look!

I love it, @Napp! Day 5?!?? Okay!!! :heart3:

Your hair looks beautiful, and very healthy. I love the colour, you can really see it when it's straight . You don't look too far off from BSL.
Many thanks, @Angel of the North! Your comments encourage me a lot! You like the color? Yay!!! Me, too! I looooooove having color.

It's baaaaarely armpit length, but that's okay. One side of my hair is very thin. I can't tell AS much when it's straightened, but when it's curly I feel like I'm missing hair or something! I honestly feel like the hair dresser's handling of my hair ripped out a lot of my hair. She's great otherwise, but she's Latina, and I don't know if she 100% gets that I handle my fine hair extremely gently as to avoid as much breakage as possible.

One visit she ran her fingers through my curly hair DRY to prove I needed a trim. She held up strands of hair in her hands and said "See?" and pointed to additional ripped out hair on the ground. My shell-shocked self was thinking, "I know I need a trim. I didn't need that damaging demo!!!!!!!"

I didn't say anything out loud because during my first cut when I asked her to preserve as much length as possible but please cut out the damage and give me an easily wearable wng shape, she made comments about how she's noticed that some black women are so pressed about getting length that they wear damaged hair just so they can seem to have length. So, instead of saying something about her running her fingers through my dry hair to prove I needed a trim, internally I just decided to return to my old stylist.

Anywaaaaay . . . :look:

So glad to see you back! Hope all is well! ❤️

You're very welcome! I'm glad that I'm able to give you encouragement along your journey, find inspiration and encouragement from many ladies across the the board, especially over the years, it's great to support, encourage and uplift each other as women.

Your cut looks slightly longer in the back than the sides, it's there! That's the type of colour I would want if I ever died my hair for sure, I just don't know how these fine strands would hold up with the chemicals and the process. I have to find creative ways to play with colour.

I was reading through your experience with the Latina stylist in shock and disbelief, I'm so glad you didn't go back there, and thankfully your old stylist was available. I'm extremely funny about who gets to put hands in my hair, I'm also very vocal about my likes and dislikes. I don't think I would have allowed her to carryout any services on my hair with that roughness, she was also rude and the attitude, behaviour and comments were very disrespectful.

Yeah . . .

Her delivery wasn't rude, but I found the statements to be arrogant and overconfident.

I will retain more hair if I keep my hair away from her. Yep. I'm grateful for the original cut and the color job, but I won't be returning.

Omg these type of comments drive me mad. Some of these stylist can’t do anything but a bob cut or the same style on every client. I can’t follow other stylist because most of the time the people and stylist are garbage

I suppose that is something, but I still think what she said was rude, especially the bit about keeping unhealthy hair for length, that definitely rubbed me the wrong way. I know there's a lot of women who do this, but that was a whole generalisation she made.

I'm just glad your back in good hands with a trusted stylist and your hair and her colour are popping! :yep:

This weeks curly cocktail:

I am trying to use up my stash and since I have some time off, I am experimenting.

This happened kind of by accident. I thought that the creams would mix but they didn't and I had white residue. i didn't see the worse of it until i got to my front sections. I did want to wash my hair again so i put this curl defining custard on top. it was very liquidy but got rid of the white chunks. it felt like thick water on my hair and my hair didn't look very defined. But once the diffuser hit, its like the curls came out of nowhere. it also dried pretty quickly too. I don't think Ill use these products together again. This was a fluke. but i did like that my hair still looks great after my workout.

Lets see if it flakes up! ;p;

Yay for the accidental find of that fix, @Napp. Lol. Hair looks good. I can't see any white flakes at all. How do you like that Amika balm? Do you think it would work for a twisting product?

My hair usually flakes on day 3 and like normal it flakes on day 3 lol

This was my first time using the Amika. I like the spray in this line. Which this cream it made my hair feel smooth and silky. I want to try it alone one day but not soon lol

So, I had to return to my old stylist to correct the cut. The new stylist wanted to do so for $350. Girl, please. You just cut my hair, and now you need to clean up YOUR OWN WORK for $350???

I was soooooooo relieved to be back in my old stylist's chair and hands! She followed instructions. She asked me what my longterm hair goals are. She was infuriated at the new stylist's comments about black women wanting to hang onto every inch of hair. She will also gradually, safely color my hair to add the red tints/hints I actually wanted.

I like my hair. I miss my prior length, but my fro is very spirally and cute. I'm so grateful to like my hair. God is good.

Note that I have definition at the root now after botoxing

I notice a little flaking though. I think the split end cream doesn't play well. Will be using for buns
Those cursl are popping! I'm on that train too, there's far too many items to get through in my stash. I feel like I've got a solid WAG routine, but I will always be looking for the next best thing to tame my frizz.

I've noticed that a lot of People layer multiple products when they style their WAG, I also think that this is a huge factor for many of them as to how they get such great definition. The issue is a single WAG product combination is not going to be universal, and this is why many people try and replicate other people's regimens and use the same products as them and end up with completely different redults, we have to learn our hair and figure it out for ourselves.

I'm definitely going to try mixing different products when I'm back in WAG season, reducing the stash is a bonus, lol.

This might be my final list of curly hair products.

(I used to love Camille Rose Naturals Curl Maker gel before the formula change, and remembering how moisturized and curly the old formula had my hair has me tempted to try the new formula again. That doesn't quite make sense, LOL.

I am also tempted to trial the new Doux anti-humidity gel. Various foams catch my eye, such as the Taliah Waajid Honey Set & Style Styling Mousse.)

I feel like the products below are the staples I can purchase on BF sale days to help me keep my hair product purchasing to a minimum.

My old stylist (thank GOD for you, Angela!) had the following to share during my most recent salon visit (I asked her lots of questions):
  1. Unless I'm severely damaging my hair, no need to get a trim more than twice a year. Quarterly trims are probably reducing my length retention. It is impossible to have split-end-free hair. Even hair that has JUST BEEN CUT has SOME split ends. The goal should not be ZERO split ends, but keeping split ends minimized at a rate that is not working against any length retention goals.
  2. There is no need to use BOTH a deep conditioner AND a conditioner in the same wash day. She uses the Innersense conditioner as a deep conditioner. I told her that I use my deep conditioner as a detangler and asked her whether I should follow up with conditioning with regular conditioner, and she said that that's totally not needed. (I'm going to see how that fares for my hair, because my currently preferred deep conditioner is expensive, and I'd like to save on haircare by NOT purchasing conditioner if it's not making any / a huge difference.)
  3. She really likes the Biolage mask, but she advices me to trial the Sally Beauty dupe (her daughter prefers IT over the Biolage mask).
  4. She really likes the Innersense conditioner.
  5. I asked her about K18 versus all these other brands purporting to have the same effect. She said she doesn't like how expensive and hard-to-spread K18 is. She says the other brands might have less concentrated formulas, but should still be effective. She advised me to try them.
  6. From the AG Haircare line, she likes the shampoo. She's not a great fan of the stylers.

I actually believe this too, this is why I'm planing on doing micro trims every quarter. By the time I get to the final trim of the year, I should hopefully have the equivalent of 2 trim. I'm working hard to take care of my ends, I'm also hoping that the regular dusting will help with maintenance and overall health.

I've only ever used a regular conditioner and a DC in the same wash day when I cowash. I also like using some regular conditioners as DCs, if it acts in the same way as a DC in my hair, I go with it. I'm not bothered by it's intended purpose.

I feel like I've tried this years ago. I might have to revisit it at some point to see how I feel about it.

There's a couple of their products I'd like to try, and I like that it's quite easy to get hold of where I am.

[New personal discovery]

Wash-and-go styling discovery:
  1. Cleanse: AG Curl Fresh Curl Enhancing Shampoo
  2. Detangle and treat: Biolage Ultra Hydra Source Deep Treatment Mask
  3. Style: Crazy Sexy Curl Honey Setting Foam
    • Done in 2 applications: First on wet hair, then same or next day reapplied to slightly damp, foam-containing hair
    • [Note to self] This is a new discovery for me!: This double-application method causes the CSC foam to have (on my hair) the hold of a gel!
  4. Scent: Ouai hair perfume

I llove CSC foam,.it's hands down my favorite! This is interesting, I may have to try that on my next WAG.

Does this mean you can omit gels from your WAGs now?

Hi!

No . . . I will still use gel . . . just because gel STILL increases the longevity of my wash and go's over and beyond what the double foam application is certainly doing.

So, I think what this new discovery about foam is doing for me is that my hair routine can now look like this:
  1. Day one:
    1. Cleanse hair,
    2. detangle hair with mask,
    3. very easily and quickly style hair with one application of (super easily spreadable) foam,
    4. let air dry or blow dry
    5. pick/shape a tad
  2. Day two:
    1. To address new frizz and new lack of definition . . . very quickly flash hair under shower water,
    2. apply (super easily spreadable) foam throughout hair for strong hold,
    3. optionally apply gel as a topper (for increased longevity)
  3. Wear hair for the next 3-5 days with VERY little touching-up
The gel application is so slight. I'm barely using any at all. That is so new for me, to be able to get long-lasting hair with a very little amount of gel, because the foam is doing most of the work. And I love that, because the foam is SO MUCH easier to spread throughout my hair, for me.

I'm excited about this! It's making me really love my hair!!! (Not that I didn't already, LOL)

That's a huge win for sure! I think the CSC is definitely a firm staple on my WAG regimen, I love it and definitely prefer it to the other mousses I've tried (CRN spiked honey,.Mousse Def).

I've recently found that applying my products straight out of the shower (without using a towel first), makes me use a lot less products and improves the moisture retention.

There is a huge difference for me between shower wet and spray bottle wet, although my hair appears wet with the spray, it doesn't have the same effect when spreading products through my hair. This is making me want to try the Miche anti humidity gel again to see if it makes a difference. I really wanted to love that gel lol. I will continue to use the mousse def and Miche foams layered with gels just to use them up,.I can enen use them for moisturising now too. The CRN spiked honey was amazing for my roller set so, I'll keep it for that.

I've purchased this range to try, (shampoo, DC, moisturising curl smoothie and elongating gel). I will likely buy the mousse, conditioner and leave in conditioner too, I'm looking forward to trying them out as a full line, the prices are also very low compared to some of the products I buy. I'm excited for when the weather improves to try them out along with the Wetline Exreme gels.

ok im back. I want to wear my hair loose for a long time. its starting to get warm and im itching for summer ready do!

This weeks cocktail is as follows

Shampoo with Vitale pro resurrect (clarifying) shampoo
Condition with Nexuss Humectress
Leave in: Creme of nature honey curl activator
Styled with Xiomara gel and miche anti humidity gel

This wash and wear was a surprise. initially i was using the creme of nature and the mich but it loooked like it would curldle on me so i put the xiomara gel on top to save it.

When it dried i have so much hold and shine i was surprised. Ill update on how long this lasts.

I also haven't done hair botox since last year and was giving a break from heat. I put in a fresh botox with no heat and the results were excellent. It gives me more of my natural curl but smoother and more pliable. I'm in love!

IMG_7234.JPG

Currently going no heat in 2026 with the exception of the hair dryer to be on the lowest setting when i dry my wash and wears.
