Rollersetters: What Heat Setting Do You Use on Your Dryer?

Hey,

Just wanted to get a poll going about heat settings used by roller setters.

So, two questions:

1. What heat setting do you use: cool, low, medium, or high?

2. How long do you sit under the dryer: half an hour or less, half an hour to an hour, one to two hours, two or more hours?

I start out with high heat for about 25 minutes then turn it down to medium heat for about 35 minutes.

It really depends. Right now, I am under the dryer and in a hurry, so I will have it on high heat almost the whole time, which will be an hour to an hour and 15 min. Usually, when I am not in a hurry, I start on high for about half an hour, then gradually dial down the heat at certain intervals (then 30 min medium, 20 min low, 10 cool). On a normal day, I sit under for 1 1/2 hours.

Im a punk because I cant handle 60 degrees...its too hot LOL.
I do 50 degrees....usually Im dry in 45-60 minutes.

You're not a punk. Sunday, I was under the PIBBS @ 50 degrees and thought "why does everyone say it's so hot...this is doable" so I crank it up to 60 degrees and within about 8 seconds I was twitching and moving and couldn't sit still!! Had to go back to 50

I have a hood bonnet dryer that takes forever. I put it on my head, set to low, and fall asleep. I wake up and my hair is dry. My husband says I look like I'm being plugged into the Matrix LOL

I do it on high and I think it takes close to two hours. i have the table top one. i try to airdry first for about an hour.

I sit under the dryer on High heat..I hate heat so I normally roll my hair at night when I will be off from the work the next day and sleep like that and get under dryer for 45 mins the next morning

I use both cool setting and medium heat for drying my hair. I don't rollerset it or anything. I simply leave it just the way it is just after washing it and jumping out of the shower. I sit under my dryer after applying my leave in treatment and alternate 5 minutes each of heat with cool air until my hair is about 85% dry.

This often takes anywhere from 1 hour to 1.5 hours depending on if I used a deep moisturizing conditioner or not. When I don't use a moisturizing DC my hair dries faster than when I use a moisturizing DC. My hair, especially my new growth, takes a long time to dry when I use a moisturizing DC.

I sit under my dryer on high for about 45 mins to an hour. Then I put it on cool for the last 15 mins. The temp gradually goes to cool.

I have started adjusting the heat on my soft bonnet. Now I do 20 minutes high, and the remainder of the time on low heat (my soft bonnet does not have a medium heat). Then I let the curl set for an additional 15 to 30 minutes without the dryer if I am not in a hurry. Now I dont feel like I have been set on fire.

Cant remember how many degrees my dryer is usually on (I rarely change it), but it's pretty hot and I sit under there for about 40 mins...

My hair takes the same amount of time to dry on medium and low as it did with 2:00 of hotter than hot air.

The highest setting on the Pibbs -70, for 1 hour 15 min. My hair takes forever to dry and that's just what I've become used to from the Dominican salons - I've learned to endure the heat.

I think I'll try a lower temp next time but I fear I'll be under for 2 hours.

Medium heat for 20 min, Cool for 20. Then I let it finish airdrying (takes about another hour) Total time= 1hr 40min....I used to do high heat for less time, but my fine hair got too dry. I airdrying the last hr with a silk scarf on top of the magnetic rollers.

Wow I thought I was enduring heat under the Pibbs set at 60 (I need ear covers at that temperature...
