So I've been telling people that my hair is going through a dry spell and its breaking. I'm just now starting to care, lol. Anyway, my hair has never been this dry since before I came here. Its brittle dry even when I use all my tricks of the trade. I figured out that since we like to go to sleep with the ceiling fan and box fan on(yes we are country as hell), I think its taking a toil on my hair.

What do yall think???!!!

Do you sleep with a bonnet on? Also, I put sweet almond oil on my ends before I go to bed. It makes a great differnce. If my hair is super dry I use coconut oil through out my hair. My hair sucks it up at night and it ends up moist and light in the morning.

Yeah, I sleep with a satin wrap. I use to oil sometimes before I went to bed but I hate smelling stuff on my pillow. I have some coconut oil that I don't use so maybe I will try that.

Do you have hard water? Maybe you need to use a chelating poo (?)

And I'm mad that you're just now starting to care that your hair was dry as hell :lachen:

If using a box fan is country, then call me Tessa Sue, cause that's all we used for a while  We JUST got a window air conditioner in our front room and it feels GREAT!!!

:lachen::lachen::lachen: Tessa Sue! I must be country as hell too. I have A/C, just don't turn it on half the time, and I have to sleep with some kind of fan. I think the noise lulls me to sleep.

:lachen: Yes, I'm just starting to care. What a shame. I gonna need to cut or trim to some more because it was breaking as well.

I'm glad I have a country person who understands about the box fan. Its cheaper than that central air that we don't run too much....

I sleep with the air on and the ceiling fan on. Never had a dryness problem from that. Try something different and please update. I'm curious about that.

That could be it. Riding with my window down caused me breakage and dryness from the air blowing on my hair. It was only the nape on that side where the window was. I had to stop doing that. :nono:

Whipz, why don't you try the ALTER EGO products? I had breaking, long strands, bought the ALTER EGO garlic first..it really helped a lot. I was running all over looking for the ALTER EGO coconut, finally found the last small container at a local BSS...just before I arrived some one dropped the jar spilling very little but breaking the seal..the owner sold it to desperate me for $10.00 instead of $18.00...I'll be buying it again at full price...my new growth is wavy and so, so soft. Try it..bet you'll not have to cut..go on buy that thing!!

Thanks, I might have to try that!!! I will look for it tomorrow.

I have been in love with my fan since I was 6 years old! We even vacation together:yep: Try a little castor oil. It's done wonders for moisture and retention for me.

Girl, let's not get started on "country as hell", I know I'm country too. Question though, have you thought about baggying with a light moisturizer?

Sometimes we run the ceiling fan, the box fan, central air, and a standup fan all at once.:look: I sometimes like to go to sleep extra cold.:look:

I love going to sleep when it's cold in my room and snuggling underneath the comforter. My mom says it makes no sense, but I'm happy with it. :look:

My hair was breaking bigtime and shedding as well.

The culprit: ORS Olive Oil Hair Moisturizer.

It made my mom's hair shed too because we both started using it around the same time and I only used it for about a month. I was losing clumps of hair in the shower. I was scared!

I baggyed my whole head with SCurl for a day and that instantly put moisture back in and significantly reduced the shedding. I then went back to my staple products and things are looking up again.

Have you tried any new products on your hair lately? Your hair may be rejecting it.
