If so, what do you use. I want to color my hair jet black but I don't know which brand to try. Ive heard great things about Textures and Tones...any advice?

are you ruling out indigo as well?? Because henna + indigo make hair jet black - and there a quite a few topics on the forum on how people do this process.

thanks, I just dont want a mess...I have a little girl who does EVERYTHING she sees mama do...she was just "greasing" her scalp with olive oil....LOL

I'm relaxed with my hair dyed black. I go to the salon to do color.

Last time I tried to color my hair black at home, I ended up with brown parts and super black parts. :lachen:

eta: I used a demi color from Sally's.

i use vitale evertone jet black rinse, it gets the job done. actually it
works better for me than sebastian colourshines . whodathunkit?

i want to go lighter, but i'm scared....

Yes, I color with Textures and Tones. When I was relaxed, I used Dark and Lovely with no problem, but I think they changed the formula; the box looks different. I've also had my hair colored at the salon, but for the most part, I color at home. Been doing it for almost 6 years. :drunk:

After I color, I DC with protein, on dry hair. I do a final rinse with cold water or ACV. I also rinse frequently, mainly because I like changing my hair color, but also because it aids in closing my cuticle.

Which color do you use?

I use Bigen as well in Oriental Black (permanent), some ppl think its drying but ive never had a problem. I heard Redken was pretty good.

I use Bigen jet black. As far as drying goes, it seems to me that all the people who complained about that were using heat to set the color. I just follow the directions exactly as they say in the packets and I'm fine with no dryness.

I love Bigen because permanent but it doesn't contain any amonnium or peroxide:yep:

I have a jet black rinse. My stylist uses PM Shine. I love it. Lots of shine!
