After DD showed me how to braid, then braid w/extensions, we put kinky twists in her hair. She's got skills t/b newly 11 :grin:. It went pretty quickly because I didn't part small sections. She wanted them kinda long so her ponytail could swang :rolleyes:. All in all, not to bad for first timers! She has a folder in my Fotki too, if you wanna check it out. Just PM me for the PW.

Wow! You did a great job, her hair is georgeous and so is she. Imagine how much they would charge for that in a salon. Your daughter must be very talented to show you how to have them looking that good. How long did it take?

:lachen:I'm right there with you! She's been able to twist since she was around 2 (I'd wash her hair, put in in ponies and let her twist them) and braid since about 5. I don't know where she got it from cuz I can't bit mo...My mom does her own hair and has dd braid it up in preparation for her weaves. That's her little side hustle :grin:

I already know. I had called and got a price and she saw what I wrote down and was like "ma, I know how to do them." It took about 3 hrs.

Thank you. I told her to keep working and sharpening her skills. With that skill, she should always have money! I told her she could be making good money on the side while in HS and college.
 
Aww...she's so cute. You did a really great job! I wonder if we got it shorter for my niece if it would be appropriate. She's only five.

You did a great job. For this to be your first time, you did wonderful on making the twists all uniform in thickness. That's where I suck.

Your daughter has a gift and is very pretty.

I was originally going to cut much shorter but she wanted them longer for a longer ponytail. We were pulling them up when she looked in the mirror and decided she wanted to leave some down in the back. I think they'd be cute and age appropriate on a 5 y/o if they're short enough :yep:. She could wear them in 1 or 2 cute pony tails.

Thank you! I think the fact that Marley hair is already basically separated into individual pieces we were using the same amount of hair each time. It would've been much harder if I had to guess where to separate the hair.
 
Yall did a wonderful job. Keep her on the right path and she can specialize in healthy hair. I like that you didnt do them really close to her edges so they cant pull. Did you start it off and let her finish up the kinky while you went to the next? That may make teh process go by faster, just a thought.
