I'm going to join for a month, I'm curious.
I'll tell you all about it.
I'll join today.

If you want to know what's on her site, check the sitemap.
http://www.healthytextures.com/sitemap

Judging from the sitemap(link above), we are NOT her audience. It's clearly for Beginners. Majority of the information that she is pushing can be found on the free Healthy Textures blog. And all of it can be found on LHCF. Now if you are too lazy to search the original blog or LHCF, pay the cost!

I respect her hustle. Macherie is the reason why I am totally self-styled today. I brought her rollersetting video and it liberated me from the salon. I couldn't do a rollerset a year ago, but now I'm self-relaxing my hair. That video gave me confidence to say goodbye to those late, overprocessing, trifling stylists. And for that I am grateful... But I'm not paying 120 a year to get the same information that can be found on LHCF for 6.95 a year. Best wishes and much success to Macherie.

that should be enough to pay off some debt...i think!

But ummm.... that would mean that ALL 88 members paid the full $100 while signing up. How do you know that they didn't sign up for the monthly payment of $9.99? So she may not have gotten $8800 in one fell swoop. The speculation in here is mind-boggling.

I would think that the money she's charging would be split between her and the other people helping her.

She does seem to have a whole staff. I really want to join for a month just to look at the videos, but I think it would be a waste. I was a part of her other one, but LHCF kept me so busy I probably only looked there 2 times.

What exactly do you get for this fee? You all mention hand-holding, how much hand-holding? If it's enough, $10 might not be too bad. You could maybe join for 3 months and get what you need and $30 for 3 months of mentoring in anything is not that much money spent. Shoot, I get $50/hr to private tutor, so I'm not going to try to say someone shouldn't charge someone $10/mo for a service. My only question is, how much service are you getting? Is there anything extra personal about it? Does she have a certain number of private emails you can have with her during that time? What are all the perks? Before we can decide if it's overcharging I think we'd have to actually know what we'd be getting for the price.

That said I won't be joining because the site's main leader is relaxed and I wouldn't ask a relaxed person for hair advice for my hair. They may know, but they ain't living the natural haired life and I'd rather take advice from someone who is sharing my hair experiences. Shoot, I saw her comb her hair, my hair combing don't look nothing like that.

ITA with the bolded. If I continue to try different things on my own & fail - I might actually join for like a month or two. Just to get me on the right track. I've done searches and read threads thru & thru but I think I'm just confusing myself & my hair is snapping off left & right. So if I spend that much in products (3 month membership) I might be inclined to do it! However with the recession, the only way I justify mini splurges is if I also have to contribute just as much to my savings acct. So I'd have to be doubly sure. :)

Also, as a newbie I'm sure I missed a lot of really good free advice. I've posted a thread asking for advice, but didn't really receive any...

i was thinking the same thing, i'm sure they are not gonna do it for no pay, especially it's a paid for site.

i wish her good luck, i liked the old site and being able to view the video snippets of stuff. but guess you gotta change and do what's best for you as a business owner.

If you know how to do this... don't waste your money.

Can you tell me some of the differences between her site and LHCF? Have you had a chance to check out the videos yet?
there is really no difference, you all aren't missing out on any thing yet! I'll do some more exploring, plus the site is in it's beginning stages.

The same reason why there's multiple threads about a specific condition, method, poo, etc

The person started this thread b/c she wanted a review from someone on here to see if it's worth the money.
Okay. And if I remember correctly this same OP started one of the already locked threads about HT.

A review is fine. Another 11+ pages of calling Macherie crazy and ripping people off is pretty damn redundant, especially if the people saying this have no intention of joining the site.

Have a nice night :drunk:

someone else said $8800, I misinterpreted it for $880.

It is nice to seem some of the older members
My curiosity has gone over the top today, I made up a new identity just to see the new application process for ChaCha!

The site has potential in the short run, I don't know about the long run.

Macherie still remains one of my favorite her idols. I supported her rollersetting dvd. I admire her busines savvy but come on ladies $100 in this economy now.:nono: LHCF is best hair care site on net for women of color for less than $7 a year.

Her new venture is going to be very profitable indeed! Go 'head Macherie!:drunk:
The issue is how many people just joined for one month, and whether she gains new members by word of mouth or will it decline.

I think more people should take the time to research before dishing out $100 dollars a year for information. Example, my head light went out on my car and I simply went online, found out how to change it, and did it myself. I could have easily took my car some where to have it service but why. There are so many helpful tool on the internet. If she charged $25 a year than maybe. It is worth the time in researching.

Okay......that's what the OP wanted was a review and to see if it was worth the moneyand I'm sure others want to know this too. I don't think she started this thread to have people calling Macherie crazy and whatnot.

I was thinking of starting the same thread b/c I wanted a review.......but decided against it.

You have a nice night too:drunk:

Who said no could disagree with me? Your reading too deep into this, and turning this into something that it's not. I said one thing and your twisting my words around like i'm saying 'bring it'! if i meant 'bring it' with the disagreeing! i would've put that. I meant to be peaceful you want to argue not a problem with me. You seem to be reading into this for drama, I don't recall the OP starting this as a drama post, she asked a question people put their answers. I put my answers.

I'm not your parent so what r u talking about
"you said ya'll can disagree w/ me...... like people couldn't or something"

I'm not trying to control what people say, I was actually enjoying this threaded discussion until this.

pointless

Yea I was too:nono:

If it truly is a "hand holding" kind of thing for beginners, then there will be a lot of turnover. Folks will get the advice they need, get their regimens together and move on. Unless the site is incredibly detailed and comprehensive and is offering special things that are exclusive to that site, I can't imagine why someone would keep paying after they have gotten their hair on the right track.

There are enough jacked up heads out there though that with enough word of mouth, new members will probably keep joining.

I believe the only aspect that would keep members is the forum, for the sense of community

I miss some of the older members posting here.
Are you talking about the older member on LHCF that disappear( I've always wondered about them) or are you saying that you see some older healthytextures members on LHCF

Interesting! When you say " word of mouth" how many of you would recommend a hair site for $10 a month. When people ask me about my hair. I tell them about LHCF. I also mention that it is $ 6.50 per year which is a good price. I wish her the best but ( in my pinion) she probably won't go to far on word of mouth.
