What part of town do you live in? Even though I don't live there now, Memphis is my home and I may be able to help...

What kinda stuff are you looking for?
Ulta (up by Wolfchase) rocks for the high end stuff. I like the local Sallys (I tend to go to the one on Austin Peay, or the one on Hickory Hill, just because they are close to my daily routes). The little hood BSS's (Austin Peay & Hickory Hill, once again) are okay - if you are looking for wigs/weaves/etc.
If you are looking for Indian stuff, there is a store up on Winchester that I go to - it's in a little strip mall, and there is another one on American Way that I've heard good stuff about.

That's the one I went to.

I didn't know there was an indian store here, where is it?

There are a couple. The one that I've gone to is on Winchester - before Germantown Pky, but after Kirby. It's on the same side of the street as the movie theatre and Walmart and Sams, but it's before the Toyota dealership (if you are coming from the Kirby direction)..... I think it's right across the street from the Ashley furniture - but I'm not sure. It's in the same complex as a mexican resturant and a Psychic.

The one on American Way I've never been to....

What products are you looking for.... Indian hair products?

Hey sweetie,

My dh/ds saw me on your blog and *made* me make a list of all the things they wanted to eat......

D, I am looking for a good wig selection. The one's at the C&P that I went to were just not me.

ty! I live in East Memphis(by the University of Memphis).

Oooh, down there - there is Maggie's in Midtown - they've got a lot of herbs, but it's priiiiccceeey. *thinks* I only lived on that side of town for a year, and I had dreads then, so I was shopping from Target for all of my hair stuff, still.

There is a Sally's on that side of town too, but I can't remember where..... and you aren't that far from Whole Foods, which has a lot of good stuff. Oooh, and there is a LUSH in OakCourt Mall, too, inside of Macy's.....

*thinks* There is a C&P on Hickory Hill too, that has a LOT of wigs - it's a huge store, and I'm not sure if they are all that size. I'm not in the market for wigs, etc, so I'm not much help there. *thinks* There is this lil BSS, next door to Seksui in Wolfchase/On G'town, that I wandered into before getting some sushi, and they had LOADS of wigs and phony ponys/phony buns, which I didn't remember seeing in the other stores. I can't remember the name of it, though.

I've been to the Indian market on American Way, but I love Indian Bazaar on Trinity Road in Cordova better. They had a little too much to choose from, so I just grabbed one of everything :look: I live nowhere near Cordova (I'm a Midtowner), but it was by far the cleanest and organized - not to mention they had so much.

I don't frequent regular BSS's 'cause I currently buy Ayurvedic products. I started out buying stuff you can only get online, so I'm kind of used to it now. I have been to the BSS on Austin Peay where that Wal-Mart is located. I went there when I needed some Elasta QP Mango Butter, but that is all I'll go for now since my church is located on AP anyway.

Oooooh, reallly!!?? :lick: Not that I need anything, right now (thank you Indian coworker for being an ayurvedic mule!), but that's good to know - I'm almost never out in Cordova, but I will remember that for when I need to restock.

Oooh, Tishee!!!

I went to a new BSS (TJ's Beauty Supply, at the corner of Winchester & Hickory Hill behind the Backyard Burger) and girl, they have at LEAST 200 different wigs in there. The store is HUGE, and I'd say 60% of it is taken up with hair - wigs, and/or tracks, and/or phony ponys, and some stuff I couldn't even figure out - girl, they even had nappy wigs! You might want to check them out, if you are still having a hard time finding something.

:thankyou::urock::worship2:thanks a million!:shopping::flowers::kiss4:

I just left the new beauty supply store on Germantown Pkwy (next to The Life Church). It's called Golden Beauty Supply. They have a really nice selection there as well! I've only purchased a couple of wigs in my life and I got them both from the beauty supply store at the corner of Summer and Sycamore view.

 Hey, fellow Memphians!

Hey sweetie:wave:

Your hair is awesome! Do you mind me asking who did your installs? They look so gorgeous!

Oops! I had the name of the Indian store wrong - it's called India Imports. I tried to go there last week, but they open at 11 am :look:, so I ended up wandering the aisles of Walmart before I had to be at work. I really need some rose water. I may head out there tomorrow before I go to work at 1:00.

Hi Memphis Ladies!!! I learned so much from just reading this. I knew about Sally's, C & P, some of the local BSS's and the Indian Mart on American Way. That is waht networking and sharing is all about!!! :) Thanks Tishee for starting this thread.
