I am planning to flat iron my hair this weekend. But I also wanted to try the homemade carmel treatment to help keep my hair moisturized. Has anyone done this? What was your experience? Thanks in advance.

Yes I use this treatment ALL the time. It really works and helps the hair stay straight. I usually keep the plastic cap on for 30 to 45 min then sit under the hair dryer for 15 min. I also DC too.

I say go for it you can't go wrong.

What type of shampoo are you planning to use if any? it should be a gentle nothing harsh. That will just take away from all of the good stuff you just put in your hair.

I'm planning to use CON or castille soap. So I put this on before shampooing. Would I still DC afterwards?

ooh girl im glad you posted. im flat ironing tonight and i meant to try this too. im gonna have to hit the store though to pick up a couple products.

i dont remember if i dc'ed afterwards. It wont hurt if u did. I have an album dedicated to my experience with it if u wanna look

Can you let me know how this worked out for you?

sorry, my weekend went completely unexpectedly and i didn't make it to wholefoods. i still need a thickener and my banana baby food. im shooting for this upcoming weekend though. Actually i dont have wheat germ oil either, but i have 20957394398 different oils in my house and i figured castor oil (being super extra thick) would work, with maybe a lil coconut oil. unless they have the wheat germ oil at WF too.
