mine is the nape but its from my constant use of wigs and the comb in the them.

I just bought Dr. Miracles Super Strength Temple & Nape Gro balm.

I will let you know how it goes.

omg browneyez this is the same issue i have my sides are thinner and grow more slowly than the rest of my head so what have you done to remedy i really need help

I haven't really found a solid remedy. I think Castor oil is helping me though, I use it on my ends all over and on my edges. I also sporadically apply growth aids with sulfur (Beemine) on the front half of my head.

I voted my crown. I just finished braiding it last week and it "seems" to be shorter than the rest. I say seems b/c since I'm transitioning and it may be just as long but I can't tell due to the new growth. Everything else pretty much grows normally.

Once I take the braids out I'll go back to DCing at least 2xs a week, hopefully it catches on.

My crown:sad:. Dry and thin. I'm thinking of purchasing Nioxin. But I have Mega Tek. I plan to use it every night till the bottle is finished. Then I'll see if I need to buy the Nioxin.

The middle of my head gives me the most trouble. This area is soooooo dry and gets super...super...tangled.

My crown is definitely my problem area. It's much thicker than the rest and when that new growth comes in...OH BOY!

It doesn't even relax all the way usually and it's soooo dry so it's harder to retain length there.

My problem was my ends. They would always be dry no matter what I did and break occasionally. I fixed that by getting a touch up and corrective, trim and using more protein with my moisture. Since then I don't have a problem any more. My hair and ends stay moisturized now.

Definitely my crown area is my biggest problem. It is extra dry, frizzy and tangles in that spot the most. I'm also recovering from some major breakage there back in 4/08 so I'm paying special attention to that area and making sure it gets lots of moisture when I moisturize and DC.

Ok..........Where is the Entry for Whole Head:lachen::lachen:
I voted for the Crown, because my crown has the tendency to be dry, itchy, and currently 'sparse.' So I pay really close attention to that particular area and keep it super hydrated and well oiled.

Everywhere else is coming along Fine.:yep: By the way: You are Rockin' the Infiniti Bun & New Color!

I'm gonna go with my bangs. When I was a child, they would grow the fastest.

As an adult, they don't even reach my nose : (!!!! I don't know what to do. My crown and back grows the fastest. My sides are next but my bangs....they don't have a clue.

Unlike many people, my nape grows really fast, but that only means that my super slow-growing crown area is even more noticeable. :ohwell: I guess I'll be wearing layers for a long time.

My ends. Especially the very back. Thats the part that seems to break off more than the rest. I dont even sleep on the back of my head so Im not sure why. I moisturize and give extra attention so I can retain some length.

Just the edges at the temples.... Even now in braids, I took the two front rows out and made one cornroll on each side. The hair that was under the braids around the temple came out. Hopefully Mega-Tek can restore it.

I have 2 problem areas, my crown because it is prone to breakage and scalp soreness; and my ends, they are narly.

My sides are thin. I bought some cator oil. I have never used it before. It is super THICK, but not greasy. I also bought Bee Mine. I will use it if the sulfur does not interfere with my BKT. :yep:

My crown. :crying3::wallbash: It just breaks off! I don't what to do with it anymore, I've tried everything...I just grows and breaks off :cry:

It is thick stuff. LOL. I try to be really light handed with the castor oil.

1. Edges - They have always been thinner than the rest of my hair, now that I am transitioning, I am hoping for better edges. Everytime I stretched relaxers, I was amazed by the tiny fluffy hairs that sprouted out of my edges BUt once I relaxed, they got thin and most likely broke off :-(

2. Crown - THICKER than the rest of my hair, I won't say drier but definitely thicker and the most likely to tangle. I add extra conditioner or moisturiser to this area.

My problem area is my edges, I neglected them by wearing braids to tight and they rebelled. No I am babying them and they're coming slowing back to life. I use moisturizer and seal the ends too but on top of that I make sure I massage them. They seem to like that.

My scalp is sore right now and I don't know whats wrong with it or what is causing it to break so much.

Are you rollersetting?

If you are, sometimes the crown can recieve too much heat and tension relative to the rest of your head. It might help to not clip the rollers as tight in that section and rub a little simple oil on your scalp in those areas before going under the dryer since that can dry the scalp out.

My problem area is the hair at the center back of my head, just a little higher than the nape. This is also the most coarsest section of hair. That section is so much drier than the rest of my head and never relaxes straight, no matter how long I leave the relaxer on.

I have just discovered this weekend that if I spray it down with Aussie Hair Insurance and then seal with castor oil it will at least stay moisturized. Typically I use a creamy moisturizer but for whatever reason that 1 section "prefers" the LL. So......I am thinking now that I have found a way to at least keep that wayward section moisturized that it should grow and cooperate.

Thanks for the suggestion Gymfreak, but I don't rollerset very often so I don't think that that's the problem. I really wish I knew what was going on though, I have breakage only in this spot.
