I believe they were very close! Mine was on October 8, 2008. Also, have you tried wet bunning? I can't make a bun on my hair once it's dry, but if I do it right out of the shower i am able to twist it and pin the ends under. I've been wearing my hair in a bun since I chopped at 17 months post, so I'm positive you can do it as well!

Mine was October 19th, cool!

I haven't tried that.. Only with a ponytail holder and then try to twist..:look:
Kinda makes sense how that doesn't work. Lol, I was seriously thinking to myself how you could bun at 17.5 months, but I couldn't!

I love your hair...I am currently transitioning and have been for 10 months...I was going to make it a one year transition, but now I am considering a longer one

Your hair is beautiful at that length!! Enjoy that wonderful shape before it gets longer and you miss it!

Shall I just get on with the pics?

Ohh all that hair! Over 7 inches in some places, but it was totally worth it.

Completely dry. I hadn't airdried my hair loose for the last year and a half, my dry texture is such a surprise to me!

The shape and different textures are kind of funny..

So I rewet and bantu knotted for the night and wore my very first pony puff today! I just couldn't believe how fluffy it was! I expected something so much coarser.

I'm so glad I went through with it! My plan was to go 'till 20 months, but I figured, that half an inch won't matter much..

Ladies from the transitioners thread, thank you so much for all the support and advice!
I can honestly say I enjoyed my transition and I'm happy I was a long termer, I don't feel overwhelmed and while it's too bad I can't make a bun, there's so many styles I can try (and if I fail I can pull it back into this pony).

Teehee! :D

GORGE!!!!!!!!!

OMG! Thank you sooo much. This is exactly what I needed.
I was planning to transition for 17 months (I am 9 months-post now) but I was just thinking of BC'ing earlier at the 12-month mark in August. Now I think I will continue on for the next 8 months because of this thread. Thanks for the inspiration!

your...hair...looks...GREAT!!! Love it, love it, LOVE IT! I can't wait to make 18 months so I can BC. I hope I have that much length.

Thank you so much!! :huggle:
I finally wore it out today, natural texture and everything. I was soo nervous and kept patting it lol, but as the day went by I got so many compliments, even from my family, so now I definitely feel more confident and I'm so glad I made this choice to go natural!

Beautiful, gorgeous, outrageously pretty head of hair! Congratulations to making it to the end of your transition. Enjoy your natural curls, work it and flaunt it girl! HHJ
