2 textures look the same?

In another thread, someone mentioned that it was hard to tel my two textures apart.....when I look it my hair,I find it hard to tell also. In May, it will mark one year since I decided to transition. I cannot see the difference but I can FEEL it when I took my hair and I have a LOT of new growth...is it hard to tell for yall too?

I was actually thinking this a couple of weeks ago. It's been a little over 14 months since my last relaxer (I'm not transitioning) and the new growth that is "old" looks just like my relaxed hair when I air dry in a pony tail when I use the right products. The new growth that is "new" (about 3 months old) has more of a wave pattern than the "old" new growth. However, if I don't use the right products then all of my new growth shows.
