So, I am the only one who has to maintain a strict regimen and still hope and pray for growth. 3" - 4" of hair growth a year is sad.

I had to get it cut to shoulder length but it still grew back to bra strap again within several months. I used to really torture my hair but it still grew.
My hair strands are very thick and strong though. My hair can take a bit of abuse before falling out.
I did that pouring straight peroxide in my hair for color thing when I was in highschool. It made a BEAUTIFUL color and my hair was fine. My hair thrives in warm weather, when it is summer time my hair grows like a weed but in the winter time I have to seriously focus on my hair just to get average growth.
ETA: My friend's hair is darn near indestructible (she has thick individual strands ). She has done everything to her hair, form using straight up peroxide to change the color (8th grade), to relaxing and coloring her hair fire engine red within the same week ! If I did that to my hair I would be bald for the rest of my life, but she is able to maintain at least SL hair.
whateva, you know what i mean.
i like how moisturized my hair is and how easy it detangles. before lhcf, i had a hard time with my hair. i didn't wash it regularly, so my scalp hurt sometimes, and i didn't know i HAD to use conditioner.
just like when you take a bath, you use soap but you may not put on lotion afterwards? well i thought all i had to do was shampoo and the conditioner was optional.
i didn't moisturize it the way i was taught, and i would rip combs/brushes through when i'd attempt to detangle, with no product in my hair at all, or some pink lotion.
UGH! I used to try so hard to color my hair with peroxide and my hair wouldn't lighten for NOTHING! Am I crazy if I try it again in the future? lol.....yeah probably...grr guess i'll pay $90 again for highlights one day
Samei'm an effortless grower and retainer-er.whateva, you know what i mean.
i would trade my effortless growing and retaining with someone who is slim and in shape effortlessly.
we all have our advantages. ♥
I'm an effortless grower and retainer(I think) as long as I don't abuse heat. My hair has always been long and I only washed during touchups or unless my mom forced me too. It wasn't until I stated thinking I was cute and flat ironing every 3 days (only using herbal oil as a leave in) that my hair started breaking off which is when I cut to the length in my siggy.....but I voted in between....just because my hair was growing long doesn't mean it was the healthiest. My hair feels better than ever now that I actually take care of it.
i started with bsl hair and didn't notice it was breaking until it was too late, and thats when i did my first bc.
i can laugh about it now. i don't know any hair that can withstand flatironing every day. i've seen some sizzled up hair on white girls. ♥So, I am the only one who has to maintain a strict regimen and still hope and pray for growth. 3" - 4" of hair growth a year is sad.
It's easy for me to retain up until about apl. After that, I'm fighting for every inch.

. I always stayed between SL and APL when I was relaxed, washing my hair once a month or so, and using the curling iron almost daily. I'm full APL now as a natural and my hair in the back is between APL and BSB. It seems that these last 1-2 in. to BSB is going to be hell to get.
