Argh! I'm addicted to touching my new growth...

My hair is NAPPY, crunchy and tightly coiled all over, but especially on the left side behind my ear. My hands stray there hundreds of times a day. I am afraid that I'm going to go bald because I keep picking at the individual kinks and stretching them out until the point that my scalp is sore. It's just on the left side. It's drier than the rest of my hair (I sleep on this side) and my fingers loves the texture.

I've read the threads and I KNOW better, but am unable to stop for some reason. I never had this problem with relaxed hair. My hair is too short for braids. I put on a silk bonnet to keep from touching it, but end of taking it off.

I'm just waiting for the first signs of baldness as a wake-up call to keep my hands out of my head.
