best flat iron plate size? 1in or 2in??

i've decided to get a GOOD QUALITY flat iron (still haven't decided which brand) but I'd like to know what plate size works best? Should I go for the 1-inch or 1 & 1/2 inch plate size? Or is there really not much difference?

Feel free to chime in on which iron i should get? I'm trying to decide between the HAI (recommended to me by a very well known celebrity stylist) or the Sedu (which i've read review after review on and it seems wonderful!)

Everyone I know prefers the 1 in. Those with shorter styles and longer styles always prefer the 1 in. It is easier to use, IMO.

I might be being difficult but I like one and a half. One inch is too small for me and two inch is too bulky, but one and a half is just right .
