BEST oils topically for our hair?

I was thinking about purchasing some avocado oil once I finish with my emu oil. I didn't really notice anything SPECTACULAR with using the emu oil (even though it was very expensive..grrrr), so I thought I would try something that's known to be very fatty and moisturizing. Any ideas as to what's the best oil over for using topically? Should I just use good, old-fashioned olive oil, or do you think that the avocado oil might just be a little bit better?? Any other ideas of an altogether different oil??

I like to use most oils as hot oil treatments or conditioner boosters. I only use jojoba oil topically (on my ends). My favorite oils are avocado oil, extra virgin olive oil, shea oil, and camellia oil.

i love olive oil, coconut oil, & soybean oil. Sometimes I mix all of them together with aloe vera for a yummy pretreatment!

the only essential oil I've tried directly is EVOO and I'm absolutely in LOVE with it. I may try jojoba oil too one day.

I use jojoba, carrot, olive oil, aloe vera, and Doo Gro Growth Stimulating Oil which had a mixture of oils in it.

I have found heated avocado oil to be an excellent addition to moisturizing conditioner.

At the present time, my hair is in love with 100% coconut oil mixed with moisturizer and left in or moisturizing conditioner and rinsed out. I like that it leaves my hair feeling moisturized all day.

I have been adding castor and evoo to my conditioner, too, and like the moisturizing effects.

Since I am natural and all about moisture, these are what I am happy with.

My oils are carrot oil, EVOO and coconut oil. My favorite has to be evening primrose oil. I open the caplet and apply that to my ends and new growth. It makes them both very strong and silky, and I find it very effective after a wash or applying a leave in moisture treatment!!

Take care,
G

seems like many enjoy jojoba--how's the smell?

It has an almost odorless, non-descriptive smell. I don't know how to explain it; its not medicinal, nor is it floral, but just a faint smell. Rest assured that you will not smell it in your hair.

It is so light too.

I use about a quarter size daily on my ends. It makes them very soft and shiny. You will like it.

I use unrefined coconut oil. It is light, and keeps my hair very well moisturized.

Me too. Coconut oil leaves my hair moisturized for days and loosens the curl pattern for an easy comb-out.
