Has anyone noticed a significant reduction in single strand knots? Tbh my single strand knots were already reduced about 95% from heavy sealing with whipped Shea butter. Now that I use the revair, I may get one in my entire head. Here's a photo from a few big chops ago when my head was riddled with them. Yes I do agree that keeping hair in a stretched state will reduce or eliminate single strand knots. When I was relaxed I never has this problem so it definitely makes sense.

I just cut as many knots as I could find off of one side of my crown and I will keep monitoring it to see if more appear.

I added As I Am gro-oil because I was losing edges due to postpartum shedding. I think I need oil or something heavier than shine spray as my style gets older. This is working out well, I just comb my hair every day to get out shed hairs (which I know would form dreads if I wore my hair curly right now) and put it up in a clip at night with a scarf. Down in the daytime until I have to go somewhere. Then the pony. Easy!! I plan to wash next week sometime.

I was supposed to wash my hair last week. Oh well, that didn't happen. Laziness took over. Plus my hair still looks very decent. But my scalp is starting to itch, so I need to wash this week. I like how long it stayed though!
 
I blew my hair out with the revair last Friday and then flat ironed on 375. The revair got my hair pretty straight, I really didn’t need that much heat to get my hair silky straight. I used Paul Mitchell relaxing balm serum as my leav-in/ heat protectant and have been applying various oils as needed through out the week. My hair is still straight and smooth even after getting caught in the rain yesterday. I’m only going to wash this weekend to keep up with deep conditioning weekly but I could easily go another week to two with my current straight hair. The revair is amazing!

Yaaay!!! I am glad it worked for you!! Your hair looks so straight and pretty! What oils do you use?
 
Used the Revair on tension 4, cool setting. My entire head was detangled, dry, and twisted in 58 minutes! :eek::drunk::toocool:.

I also felt like I loss wayyy less hair then I usually do degangling (think the Revair definitely reduces SSKs for me.)

I did not expect to get such great results with the cool setting.
 
I’ve been following this thread since the beginning. I’ve used my RevAir on myself three times now. I’ve been using Karen’s Body Beautiful Sweet Ambrosia Leave In and Sabino Moisture Block.

The first time I think I used low heat and 7 tension and followed it up with the flat iron.. It was the best flat iron I’ve done in a long time and my hair lasted really well.

The next time I used low heat and 4 tension. I was looking for just a dry and medium stretch. My hair straightens out pretty easily. It got a little straighter than I was looking for but I was still really happy with the results.

Last night I used no heat (got that idea from someone upthread) and 3-4 tension. My hair didn’t seem as soft as it does when I use heat but when I put my styling products on it was just as soft as usual. I set my hair in twists that I Bantu knotted and have good volume today.

I love this thing and my daughter loves it too. I use it on her weekly and will be using it on myself with every wash (about every two weeks).

I really wanted some crochet braids last week so I asked my cousin to braid my hair and I added the crochet. The combination of fresh braids and 3 packs of Senegalese twist was too much tension for my scalp so I removed the braids after 3 days. I just knew my hair was going to be a hot broken mess because my cousin was not as gentle as I would've been. Surprisingly when I washed and blow dried with the revair yesterday, my hair wasn't too bad off. I'm still moisturzing with tgin butter cream and blow drying on tension level 7 high heat. I sealed with whipped Shea butter and installed some mini braids.

I’m sorry you had issues with the twists but am glad they didn’t cause any damage. Did you do mini braids with your own hair or extensions?

I didn’t use the RevAir this weekend (I just air dried in a bun when I washed). But I am going to wash it again tomorrow because I saw a lot of breakage this morning. I should have just used the RevAir yesterday but I was attempting to give my hair a break. Stupid decision.

My hair just seems to do better stretched with heat. I wonder why that is? I may just take my back braids out and see how my hair does with just keeping it stretched with the RevAir after a full four-five months.

I did the mini braids with my own hair. I prefer it to extensions because it makes it easier to wash, moisturize and seal my own hair. I can still wear a wig here and there but I doubt that I will.

My hair prefers heat stretched versus air dried as well especially now that it's not being dried out by my blow dryer. When my hair air dries, it feels crispy even if I use a moisturizer. I end up remoisturizing my hair the next day when it's fully dry. Have you been incorporating protein treatments now that you're blow drying more frequently?

I deep condition with treatments for damaged hair every other week with either Kerastase Therapiste and Chronologiste Masks or the Aveda Damage Remedy Restructuring Treatment.
 
Still at it! Still using the RevAir and still loving it. I've recently started doing blow dried chunky twists. They look great until I moisturize them and then I can stretch wash day for another week with the shrunken-ish hair.

I'm thinking about blow drying then lightly flat ironing on 300 degrees or so for a different look in the near future.
 
How long is your hair staying stretched? I can keep my hair stretched in braids but if I try to wear it in a bun, the humidity turns me into a poodle head and the ends start to shrink. I don't even wear my hair in a shrunken state anymore because it's not worth the battle with ssks. On the one hand, I'm happy that the revair doesn't give me any heat damage but I low-key want my hair to stay stretched longer outside of braids

My hair seems to stay stretched for the entire week even with me putting my Soultanicals slip n slide on. There is reversion but it is still smooth if that makes sense. But I wear it in a bun all of the time. I don’t wear my hair loose unless I flat iron it.

Do you use glycerin leave-in/moisturising products? This could be the main culprit.
 
I’m still using my RevAir and loving it! I love having my twist outs more stretched even on first day hair. Love that my hair is dry the same day instead of waiting overnight, stretching it after is is dry, and THEN finally having a decent twist out. Right now I’m wearing tuck and roll and large braid styles that I otherwise wouldn’t do if it weren’t blow dried.
