I was all set to start baggying my hair last night when I realized that I really have no clue how to do it...:lachen:

Do you ladies just moisturize your hair the way you normally do and then put a plastic shower cap over it? Do you have to use more moisturizer than normal? Do you use Saran Wrap? Do you actually put moisturizer in the bag? I read that the hair is wet in the morning...what's up with that? Can I slap a few Carusos in my bangs and at the top of my head in the morning and put the rest in a french twist or will it be too wet? (I have a huge forehead (think "Rihanna"), so I needs my bangs!)

I did a search on baggying but there wasn't really a "How-To" resource.

Well, when I baggy I put my hair in a pony tail with a seamless scrunchie. I mosturize the end of the pony tail so it is very moist. Then I take a plastic bag and place it over my pony tail and secure it with a rubber band. Then you put some kind of fake hair over it.:lachen:

When I first started out baggying, my hair was wet too. I used waaaaay too much product and my hair was always wet cause I had no clue what I was doing. Now my hair is just soft and moisturized. Okay, this is what I do:

1) I part my hair into two sections, like I'm about to make pigtails.
2) I get about a pea sized amount of moisturizer and work it through one side of my head
3) I get about a pea sized amount of oil and work it over that same side
4) I gently comb the product through and put that side in a no snag rubber band (don't make the ponytail too tight)
5) Braid the ponytail and wrap it around into a little bun
6) Cover with a baggy and secure the baggy with another rubber band

HTH!!

OK...so you ladies aren't just baggying overnight? You're actually wearing the baggie under a phonytail? I was hoping I could baggy at night and style it in the morning. Does that work?

I baggy at night and put my hair in a protective style in the morning. I've never had any problems with it

I whole head baggy overnight.

I use the same amount of moisturizer that I usually use, and I seal with castor oil. Then I tie on a scarf cause I sweat at the front of my head, and then cover with a plastic cap, and then cover that with a satin bonnet.

My hair comes out soft but not wet in the morning.

and are you able to wear it down the next day?

I don't know if this is the proper way or not, but I just discovered this over the weekend.I did'nt think I liked baggying because my hair would be a soggy mess afterward. I was putting waaaay too much moisturizer on.Now, what I do is after my wash and con, I moisturize and seal as normal. After that I saran wrap my whole head and put a scarf on the top. I either sleep like this or leave it a few hours while I'm hanging out around the house. The results are alot better. I don't loose all my moisture and oil to my scarf and my hair is nice and soft when the saran wrap comes off.

i baggy everyday. i put NTM Leave in and coconut oil or qp mango butter/coconut oil in a bag and slap on the phony pony:lachen:!!!

at night if my lovey aint here i do 2 ponytails with the baggy to ensure I am getting ALL my ends moisturized.

I SWEAR by baggying!!!:love::love:

I swear by baggying too...
I do it EVERY NIGHT!!!
I baggy my entire head.
Usually I put a little moisturizer
on my ends, pin them up and
then slap on a plastic bag.

I did it! I moisturized my ends with a couple spritzes of water and sealed with castor oil. Then I pincurled and put on my bag before covering with a silk scarf. My SO had no idea I had a Target bag under there... When I woke up this morning, my hair was moist, but not damp or wet at all. I pinned it up in a twist and was good to go! I hope this works because I've had some breakage lately and I'm not sure if it's due to moisture or protein issues.

I'm going to try Saran Wrap tonight because the bag was a bit noisy to me.
