Yep, that's right! Around this time three years ago, I cut the remainder of my relaxed hair off after about 1 year and 4 months of transitioning (last relaxer - December 2002). I know many of you are thinking "It's been 3 years and your hair is ONLY that long?" don't worry, I've been doing my share of cutting, so don't be discouraged as to how much length you can accumlate over a few years. It's been a fun, exciting, expensive (lol), and at times frustrating and trying. The learning stage is the hardest, but I hung in there and am at a place now where I "know" my hair and everything is all good. I've said it before( but I REALLY mean it this time) lol, my goal for the rest of the year is to grow out my hair with out doing any major cuts, just regular SMALL trims to maintain healthy ends.

Thanks for all that have offered advice and kept me encouraged. Happy hair growing everyone!!! Congrats to everyone else celebrating their anniversaries this summer, the summertime is always big chopping season :)

Your hair is beautiful! It was a source of inspiration and it helped me to go ahead and just do my BC. I didn't transition though so am sporting a supa dupa TWA:lol:!

I  your hair. Too gorgeous. I know exactly what you mean with the excessive cutting :ohwell:. Its been almost 4 years since I did the BC and technically I should be at or approaching WL by now  But I did several big trims and grew/chopped my hi-lites out and my hair is still approaching BSL after all of that mess  So like you, I dont get discouraged :yep: I finally left the sicissors alone and Im am getting some major length progress :yep:

Happy 3rd Anniversary lady!!! :yay: Your hair has clearly thrived over these years, and it is looking FANTASTIC!!!! You are such an inspiration to us ALL--both relaxed and naturals!!!

HHG!!!!!! Oh..... and we will hold you to that "no major trims" promise!!! :whip: This thread here is the proof...... so dont make me have to bring it out in a few months to call you out!!!! :sekret:

Congrats your hair is beautiful and the cuts seem (at least to me) to have been worth it. Your hair is absolutely gorgeous and growing out in the best way. Ok I am with everyone else no major cuts.

I've always loved your hair, so healthy, thick and full, with a wonderful cut - you're one of my natural inspirations. Great work :)

Thanks ladies! I think I'm going to stick to this promise....I'm about tired of this length and ready to move on ;)

Congrats! Your hair is gorgeous and I remember seeing your album when I first went natural 2 years ago but I wasn't on this board.
