I thought I'd just drop this here for a bit of inspiration.....

This is interesting. I always thought APL was at the bottom of the armpit and not the top. Or is it that full APL is at the bottom?

And BSL is at the top of the bra? Just curious? Because if that is the case I can start claiming things a full 6 months earlier

:curtain:......... I don't have much to update, my hair is about the same. The crown is the longest overall section of my hair so I decided to take a pic of part of the crown stretched. This was after I had finger detangled and was taking my hair back out of the bantu knots so that I could wash it. If my hair makes it to Classic length I'm sure the crown will get there first :lachen:. You can see the two bantu knots at the bottom are actually my nape section. I also included a pic of part of my hair after I took the bantu knots out and a wet pic of it right after I washed it. I think the pictures look better if you click on them.

I'm thinking if you blow dried your hair you are already classic. But perhaps you are wanting it there on just pulled hair. But blow dried you would gain at least 2 to 3 inches if not more.

@faithVA I think the person in that picture has on a shirt that is baggy in the armpit area, and its making the armpit look lower than it is :lachen:

@faithVA I wish that was the case but my hair would be the same length blow dried. It would also look shorter with the texture. Maybe I will blow dry it the next time I wash it and post a pic.

I think of APL as anywhere between the top and bottom of the armpit, pretty much the same with BSL. With BSL, the bra straps can be different widths and also sit at different parts of the back depending on height/length of torso. Fir me when hair hits the top of the bra strap, till it hits the bottom of the brastrap, it's BSL.

I don't see myself making classic length by the end of this year, or at least not without some serious length retention.

I'm currently at a place where I'm wanting to do my best to retain length, increase moisture and take care of my ends.

I'm also curious to see which length I will reach by the end of the year, I'm envisaging great results based on my planned input.

I'm also thinking about when life gets hectic and hair has to go on the back burner, hopefully I will have full HL at the very least. I'll br happy with that.

I found my post #5 in the Hip, Tailbone, Cassic and longer Club/Challenge
that you have linked in your above post.

That was 20 Years ago, in 2005!

I have never made it passed the small of my back. I have never grown my hair to my pelvis, which is the area that is at the juncture where my hips connect to my thighs.

I'm tired of sabotaging my own progress, intentionally, ignorantly, accidentally or whatever.

So, you know what?

I'm joining this because I am DETERMINED to grow my hair OVER my booty. This is something I have NEVER been able to do.

This is a 2 Year Challenge I see.

I am scheduled to straighten and trim my hair at the end of April 2025 and will use that as my starting picture.
I forgot about this one. I still owe a starting photo. One year late, but @snoop said we can join anytime!

Starting Photos!

Okay, here is my starting picture which is a montage. From left to right:
June 2024 (left photo) vs December 2024 (middle) vs April 2025 (right photo in gray shorts).

June2024 vs Dec2024 vs April2025.png

This is when I realized I was FINALLY out of my 12-Year-Grow-Break Cycle.

What is my process?
  • I identify and trim at a goal length point. That is in the first picture. That is my goal length point and that is why my hair is even. I try to keep my hair trimmed at my goal length until the hair starts to get fuller at the ends. That is picture number 1, or the June 2024 picture that is to the left.
  • Next, when I get a certain thickness at the ends, I let my hair drop to the NEXT goal length point. That is picture number 2, or the December 2024 picture in the middle. It looks like I gained about 2 to 3 inches from June to December (5 Month Time Frame).
  • After that, my hair likes to thicken up at this new length. BUT, the thickness is NOT on the ends, the thickness starts to happen at the bulk of the hair. The hair is super puffy right above the bra strap area. The length of the hair is also starting to cover more of my back and covering over my waist and lower back. It's getting denser on the ends. This is where my hair SLOWS down in terms of length gains. This is also usually where my hair starts to break off. That is picture number 3, or the April 2025 photo on the right in the gray shorts. I gained about 2 inches from December to April (4 Month Time Frame).

I am open to, I welcome, I encourage any observations, comments, suggestions and/or thoughts!

Unfortunately, I have not straightened or trimmed my hair since April 2025. So, it's been one year. I plan to straighten and trim in April 2026.
