And he did a good job! He got all the newgrowth, he moved fast, didn't underprocess me, and he didn't go over the line of demarcation. He even based my scalp and put the grease on my ends for me. I was gonna wash the relaxer out myself, but he ended up doing the whole process. And he had the nerve to have a little attitude like " Next time you need to detangle better!"

I was gonna let my friend do it, but I guess since he did it last time he was offended b/c he told me " Go ahead and let her f$%k your hair up. Don't be crying to me about losing all your progress!"

My hair came out really good after flat ironing, so I think I'm gonna make this his permanent job. Hey, it saves money! I might even let him give me my trim next month!

Oh........, that is SO sweet!!!

At least he is supportive of your progress so he is the best person to relax your hair since he will be extra careful with it. Lucky you for having someone to do your hair who is so reliable - and very cost effective!!!!

Wow, that's great! Did you train him or did he come like that? :)

Oh, I trained him! He did it last time on July 1st, but it was so underprocessed it was terrible. So I printed off some tips from the board, and I showed him exactly how to do it using a doll! He was like "I'm not stupid, I can do that!" And I was thinking, yeah, then why I got half an inch of underprocessed hair then! But he did good this time.

Girl, does he have a brother???

Seriously, sounds like he did a great job! And the fact he'll take pride in how well your hair is doing is a bonus! Tell him the ladies here say "well done!"
Just don't let him start charging you! :lachen:

:lachen: :lachen: :lachen: I had to promise him a new Ohio State T-shirt as incentive! Heck, he'd just be charging me out of the money he makes!

What a great man you have:D  Now if only I can find a man like that...Must add that to the list of qualifications I am looking for in a man (Note: Must know about hair or is trainable:D )

LOL, never settle for less!

That is so sweet! My dh helped me last time, but he was annoyed and disinterested the whole time. It's so sweet that your dh really cares about your progress. I can't believe he told you to detangle better!

My honey's been dying to "help" me with my hair. He once asked if he could brush my hair for me. I was like Honey, when have you ever seen me brush my hair. But I know he'd be careful... hmmmm

Really think about it, who else do you trust more? Once I explained the fundamentals to him he picked it up quite well. And you know your SO is the last person that wants you to look a mess!

ITA. I'm gonna talk to him about it tonight. Maybe we'll practice with conditioner a couple times until he can get his speed up. Thanks! I really hadn't considered having him doing it but interested + supportive = trainable.

Thanks girl!

Let me know how it goes if you do it!

That is really sweek:) Soooo romantic, awww! I'm gushing here, but thanks for sharing Breezy:)

My husband does mine, too, when I can't get to a salon. It helps because he is invested in my hair staying healthy and is very careful. :)

I just emailed him at work and told him about the thread. Now his head is all hyped. He's probably strutting around work like a peacock now!

WHERE DID YOU FIND HIM??? I only wish I had a SO that was that savvy and cared that much about my "hobbies". !

My boyfriend is bent on keeping me from going to the hairdresser. He says all the money I give her, WE (he really said we) could do it here at home for free. He said he'd b my eyes in the back.

He also knows that I rarely brush my hair but on day, he picked up his wave brush and brushed it every so lightly (felt like the brushed barely touched me at all) which felt great. :p

If only I could get him to give me scalp massage long enough to benefit me.:perplexed
