Distilled Water

What is the purpose of using distilled water when

Doing a final rinse ? What results do you get from it ?

What does this type of water do to the hair ?

Hmmm...I also would like to know some of the benefits. One thing I've noticed is my hair soaks up way more distilled water versus regular tap water. There is a difference, I just can't seem to put my finger on what makes distilled water better.
