I'm gonna try my first twist out within the next few days and I need some inspiration. Please either post your pics here or post the link. Thanky:D

Oh and it would help if you posted how many twists you did, what products and all that good stuf.;)

Check my fotki. I belive I have some pics in there of a twist out. My hair was much shorter then than it is now, but you'll get the idea of what a twist out looks like. They are beautiful! You may just have to retwist them at night to keep the waves/curls fresh.

I can't remember what I used in those pics but in general I straighten my hair first in a rollerset, then I twist it w/ some moisturizer and a little light gel like SHINE. I usually do about 8 or so twist cornrows with curler on the ends. I let the hair dry (from the gel/moisturizer) overnight. Then in the morning when I untwist them I put some oil or serum on my fingers before untwisting the twists. This helps to reduce/eliminate the frizz as the twists come down.

I don't have pics of the twists but I have some of the end result. The pics were taken when my hair was a little shorter than it is now and my twistout was a few days old. (Hence, the crazy looking ends:perplexed)

I make sure I use some Elucence MB as my leave-in then, I comb my hair. Next, I use some Motions Foaming Wrap Lotion on each section before I twist it going back. I find that this helps my twist out last longer. I always do 6 twists going back. On the end of each twist, I put a flexi rod and then sit under the dryer for about an hour. If I do my twists at night, I dry for about 45 min. under the hooded dryer and then leave them in overnight. When I unravel the twists, I usually apply some coconut oil to add some shine:).

After a few days, if my hair is starting to look frizzy I use some Garnier Fructis curling mousse. Hope this helps!

That came out pretty. So you do the twists going back like cornrows vs. the individual loose ones? I didn't think of doing it like that......hmmm.

I think I got the right pic.....is it in your protective styles album? Thanks for your tips. I was wondering what to do with it at night. I guess I'll have to experiment a bit.

Ok, thanks ladies. I checked everybody out and yall are looking good. Anymore cuz I'm doing this tonight.......

I don't have any pics, but I've done 2 strand twist outs that are almost just like a braidout but curlier. I've also done the bantu knots and taken them out. (That takes much longer to dry.) Your hair will be gorgeous regardless.

Yes I have plenty of pics...my hair is not as long as yours...by any means....but here are some pics anyway

Thank you. Your hair looks great. I really love that last pic.

I love that! It's georgeous. So how many twists did you do? I want big waves so I guess I'll do larger ones.

I probably did anywhere between 12-16 twists. I never even gave any thought to doing them larger. I'd just gotten into the habit of doing them small, but that's a great idea! I think I'll give that a try.

I did it ladies. I put a few pics in my album under "My first twist-out". It came out pretty good. Thanks for all your help!

Oh, and my avatar is one of the twist-out pics.
