For me, fake hair is great as a method to help me grow healthy hair but I HAVE TO be able to access my real hair underneath very easily. By this I mean I cannot wear a weave or anything like that becasue I want to be able to wash and Deep Con, or moisturise my hair whenever I like. I have to be able to look at and inspect the condition of my hair whenever I want to and also check on it's progresss.
Thats why for me the best thing ever are phony ponies, because you can just bun your hair and pop it on over your real hair and take it off at night and moisturise it etc and I feel happy knowing that my real hair is protected underneath.
I had a weave only once years ago for about 6 weeks,, and when I took it out most of my hair had disappeared on one side. I would NEVER EVER get a weave again.
For me the aim is to grow my hair so beautifiul that I never have to wear fake hair again but in the mean time it is a great help and and a great relief because you don't have to worry i.e. if you just had a big trim (as I have) and you hate it cos its short I don't have to wear my hair short which I hate but I know my hair is healthy underneath.

I've worn everything from glued in tracks, to ponytails, to sew-ins, to wigs. One of the things I love about wearing fake hair is that you can experiment with different styles, cuts, lengths, textures, and colors without unnecessarily damaging or permanently changing your own hair.
i think if i cut it into a proper hairstyle i will be able to be more comfortable with what is growing out of my head and be able to rock it cus when i have braids i miss combing it and feeling my hair and washing it like normal
(sorry for the novel)
), and it didn't work for me, but i see plenty of women who wear fake hair that isn't jacked up, and that's great for them.
! I figure I don't want to be bothered with hair stuff while I'm in the hospital and the first few weeks after bringing the baby home.
