Which one is better for straightening 4a/b thick/course natural hair? And why, and are their any other benefits? Thanx in advance

LOL...we've had this discussion a few times. Essentially the answer comes down to who you talk to and what they have.

T3 Tourmaline/FHI and CHI Ultra (the tourmaline iron) all are ceramic and tourmaline...all heat to between 400 and 450 degrees. Max Temperatures:
Chi: 400 - one heat setting
T3 Tourmaline: 410
FHI: 450

All have the swivel cords and all that crap. At this point it comes down to price. I've used the Chi and the T3. I liked the Chi better (I'm actually selling my T3 on ebay as we speak). There wasn't anything WRONG with it per se, but the Chi I had and returned (like a dumb ass) worked much better, didn't revert and repelled humidity. The T3 did none of the above. And maybe that's just my head. I've never tried the FHI but I've heard great things about it.

If you have $150 that can be tied up on your credit card, go experiment. Buy the T3, try and it and return it. Then by the FHI, try it and return it. Which ever you like better, then look for the best price and love it. :)

T3 for me!!!

Gives me relaxer straight hair and no reversion. :look: Sorry that happened to you MsNadi. I'll be buying myself the wet/dry version for Christmas.

I like the Ultra Chi, the only downfall is there is no temp control. So, I recently purchased a FHI Platform w/ a temp control & I like this one too. As stated before, just depends on who you talk to or what extras you prefer. Good luck!

I have the T3 wet/dry. It is the pink one which is the cheaper version. For some reason I don't like it very much. I just feel like my hair is dry after using it and I have to do more passes than I am comfortable with. It is okay for now, but I'll probably get a FHI to replace it.

ETA: And it definitely does not work on my wet hair. It makes it very puffy/frizzy feeling. Its okay on slightly damp.
