Hey guys I don't have a camera (no not even on my cell phone) so I never have any cool pictures to send about hair styles and progress. At any rate, a friend just took with 3 months of ng and I'm quite pleased. Enjoy!

Looks Great Zen~

Whats your regimen?? *hey that rhymed*

Thank you~

Mostly washing at least 5 days a week and deep condish 1-2x each week following my moisture protein balance needs. I always use some kind of leave-in currently Aphogee vitamin leave-in treatment and/or creme leave-in like Garnier Length and Strength or avocado butter, etc. I only detangle in the shower with a Jilbere de Paris comb around 1x/ week and finger comb as needed. I divide my hair into two braids and pin them up forming an infinity design in the back all in the shower and make sure the ends are tucked in to maintain moisture. It's pretty plain looking and then I slap on some kind of headband/scarves/etc. to hide the edges. That's pretty much how I look 99% of the time. If I want to have some kind of style I do a DRY rollerset where I set my dry hair using a creme hair dress, end papers and all on small magnetic rollers THEN I run my head under the shower and either air dry or sit under the dryer.

I am increasingly stretching my relaxers- going to 6 months this time. I may go the next 2-3 weeks after a relaxer flat-ironing my hair but other than that the only heat I use is steam or conditioner caps for treatments. I use a lot of kitchen items that are about to expire like garlic, rosemary, mayo, eggs, avocados, oils, etc. and use a blender to make homemade deep condish treatments.

Every 2-3 months while stretching, I go to Daneen in Chicago for a deep hot oil treatment and for her assessment of my hair. I let her straighten and curl my hair and give me a light trim as needed. She also does my relaxers and really encourages stretching.

That's about it. I just bought a wig so I can rock cuter straight styles more often. :yep:

How pretty!
I'd be pleased too if I had that much growth and length.
What's your ultimate goal?

I guess I'll just keep going until maybe when my hair is styled and curled it falls at that length (unless it's too heavy!) and can put it up in really thick wet buns so somewhere around WL? Being 5'11" means it takes longer to reach different lengths so I don't expect as much when I see my hair straightened, I'm just glad it's healthy. I'm not as goal oriented as I was when I've started the journey and just enjoy maintaining a basic regimen and trying out new products. It's funny bc I think a lot of us automatically say that we want waist length hair as it grows and as that goal becomes more of a reality, we tend to adjust what we want to what works.

Okay, I'm about to go sit in a corner and sulk...you're 5'11"?
I'm so jealous.

btw, love your eyebrows! I need to put the tweezers down.:look:

Thanks!

Girl- Threading is definitely the way to go! :yep: I only use tweezers in between sessions and I get them done every couple of months.

Oh being tall has its drawbacks too- you always get hit on by guys that are 5'2"! :wallbash: It's hard to find cute shoes your size (I'm skinny so just bc you wear a size 11 doesn't mean your feet are wide) and you can look like a drag queen you try to wear really high heels.
