I've been getting numerous questions (and compliments--thx to all) about my texturized hair, so I thought I'd let you guys know (the ones interested in texturized hair) that I've added a new picture of my hair airdried. While my hair is wet, I run a few drops of coconut oil through my hair and also this Salon Selectives product called "Loosely Defined" (it is discontinued though). This is the best picture I have of my texturized hair, as I don't usually wear it airdried very often...I usually wear it rollerset or am unbe-weave-able.

Keep in mind, my hair is naturally 4A...hope ya like!

Your hair looks great. Too jealous of you in the Miami sun while we are buried in snow in DC.

You and your girls look like you have a lot of fun!

Your hair looks great in all the styles

I really like the airdried one and the rollerset/bush ones. Very cute

Do you texturize your hair yourself? If so, what is the process (i.e. relaxer to conditioner ratio? processing time? smoothing?)

Great hair girlie. Thanks for sharing your photos. You ARE a looker

Thx guys--but actually I don't live in Miami--I wish! I just visit often--actually I was dating a guy for a while that lived there. I'm actually moving to Atlanta in about 3 months...

Miss Brown--Yes I do texturize myself, but I don't "cut" the relaxer with anything. I use Elasta QP relaxer in regular strength, apply it to my new growth and once it is fully applied I comb through (just the newgrowth) with a rat-tooth comb, let sit for about 5 minutes and wash out....I do a touch up about every 12-16 weeks. Hope this helps!

Waaaah!!! I can't see!!! I want to see! I'm transitioning (it's only been 5 1/2 weeks, but my hair grows really fast so I have almost an inch - mine grows .75 of an inch per month. But I want to texturize too after I finally chop off all the relaxed hair. This is what I did when I went Natural before. About 2 years into it I texturized! I found it to offer the very best of both worlds!! I did it about 1/2 an inch away from my scalp therefore NO chemical EVER touched my scalp, and I'd do about every 4 months or 3 times a year. By then I'd have so much newgrowth it was easy to avoid my scalp with the chemical! I bet your hair is just beautiful!!! Also, I liked the fact that I could straighten it easier whenever I wanted the straight look! It was fun and the most versatile hair in the world!!! FUN!!! :-) OK..........now I'm going to try again to see the pics!!

Shucks, we're the unlucky ones- and I wanna see it so bad! I'm going to texturize my hair within the next 2 weeks, so I want to see as much of texturized hair as I can...

I'm sorry to those who can't see the pic...send me your email address(es) and I'll send just that picture to you through email.

Cocoacure--you summed it up!

I was able to see your pictures. You, your sister and your friends are such beautiful young ladies, and your hair is so lovely.

You guys sure are beautiful....!

Thanks for the info.

Your hair looks really good...I am considering texturizing my hair, and I think you just convinced me!!!!!!!!!

Awwww, you're such a cute girl and your hair is so thick and healthy.

Your club pics remind me of me and my friends 10 years ago...oh to be young again

Great hair. I wish I could put on my own chemicals....I hate hair dressers. Does it come out consistent? My arm would get tired if my hair were as thick as yours.

Hallelujah! I have seen the light...or pics as they may be!

Girl your hair is awesome! Were you completely relaxed prior to texturizing? Do tell!

Wowza!! In another post you said you transitioned for a number of months and then you texturized - or attempted to relax and ended up texturizing. Did you cut the relaxed ends off? how long did it take you to get to this length with all texturized hair?
thanks

Thx you guys--you sure know how to boost a girls ego!!!

Anyway, my perms have never been bone-straight--so my transition from relaxed to texturized wasn't THAT drastic. But if you do want to switch to texturizer from a relaxer--you will have to gradually trim the straight ends off. I guess it's just like transitioning to natural but not as difficult because the two textures aren't SO different. When I realized that by relaxing my hair myself, I was actually texturizing it, I just kept doing what I was doing which was re-touching every 12-16 weeks and wearing my hair mostly in rollersets or rockin' the sew-in weaves. I probably did this for a year or year-and-a-half. I kept my ends trimmed, and then one day I decided to let my hair just airdry--and even I was surprised out how it looked. That I actually had "wash-and-wear" hair.

So now I've got my hair where I want it--so my new focus is gaining length.

Hope this helps!

Sorry guys--but I think there are too many people at the moment trying to look at my album--that even I can't open it up. I'll let you know when it's back up....hopefully in a few minutes...

Hey guys my album is working again. I tried to make it into more of a "hair album" instead of a bunch of random pics of me and my friends. I actually tell you how each look is styled (i.e., weave, rollerset, airdried, etc.) Enjoy!

Model, Model, Model...That title is definitely not wasted on you in any sense!!! Your friends are great lookers too, and like you, they have the hair to match. Ooooh can I be your friend too?

After much deliberation, I have deduced that Model carries a contagious hair/beauty virus. My calculations show that the reason it's not a nationwide epidemic is because it is transmitted through the sharing of "friendship" with her (without protection). Club environments and nice balmy climates seem most favorable to its transmission, although for some low-immunity souls no environment is safe.

(I know what some of you are thinking... I better quit deliberating before I hurt myself, huh?

Very nice pictures, Model.

Took me back to the days when I was a party animal hitting the club scene every night! Ahh...nostalgia!
