For those who don't use shampoo

I pre-oil then wash with BS/distilled water/honey if needed, otherwise I just rinse the oil out and that seems to be enough.

I should try baking soda. I only shampoo once a month. When I do, I use a sulfate free shampoo

My sentiments exactly. I have wanted to try an AVC/baking soda rinse to clarify or act as my cleanser, but haven't gotten around to it. I have resorted to using handmade, all natural shampoo bars. They cleanse and sudse, but they don't strip. When I don't use the bars, I use CON green label. Love the shampoo bars, wish I'd tried them sooner!

great thread. in the past i used ACV rinses and even tried baking soda, but i have way too much shampoo in my house that i need to get rid of, so i just pre-poo overnight with one of my trillions of oils before shampooing. this helps my hair not feel as stripped and not get as tangled. when all these bottles are gone, i will return to ACV rinses.

i want to try hair one, but a friend just gave me some black soap so i will make that into liquid black soap with some distilled water, oils, glycerin and raw honey and use that as shampoo. love the idea of mixing shampoo with conditioner, BostonMaria!

I only wash once a month and when I do it is with Giovanni 50/50 Moisture/Clarifying Poo. I also dilute it with water and concentrate on my scalp.

These are all definitley great responses. I tried an ACV rinse and it left my hair feeling like pure SILK! I'm definitely gonna try to incorporate those into my reggi more often.

I think I might also look into this Shikaki bar business.

I use WEN cleansing conditioner. I clarify twice a month with either ORS Aloe Shampoo or Nioxin Clarifying shampoo.

Bronner's has a All in One with Shikakai in it. I have the green bottle, but haven't used it on my hair yet. I've heard good reviews about it, yet am surprised not many talk about it on here.

I've used this before but had to return it after one use, I just couldn't stand the smell :nono:(I had the purple lavender bottle)
Then I used regular DrBronner's all in one soap in sweet almond. I tried diluting it with water and oil as per Traycee's instructions but didn't really like it. One day I got lazy and used it straight and it was great. So now that's all I use.:yep:

anyone have a recipe for making liquid black soap from the solid form?

there must be more to it than just adding water ?

EDIT ... oops I just read the whole thread, so what are the measurements for the glycerine, etc?

anyone know

I use garnier conditionner to wash my hair. What i add to it is baking soda( like a teaspoon or more). My hair feels cleaner and not dry. I started this after undersanding that my hair gets so dry with knots when i use shampoo. Once i mixed my garnier conditionner + bakin soda+ lemon: it was soft.
