For those who wanted to know if her hair really grew that fast

I saw the original youtube video but didn't know it got that heated. Soooooo, I wasn't even ready for the theme song just now I was like , but bobbin my head at the same time. That's what's up. I don't know how appropriate it was but the lyrics were....interesting.

I think the word I really should have used was fitting, because if I were in her shoes, my first thought/sentiment would definitely be like whatever, funk dem, if I knew I wasn't perpetrating. I can't really speak on appropriate, because I am not in her head.

I have a sorority sister the same way; she cut her hair to chin length in august 2007; by may 2008 she was a little past shoulder length; mind you i had chin length hair and my hair just now touches the back of my neck; some people are just blessed to have faster growing hair; by the way, my sorority sister isn't mixed nor does she do anything "special" to her hair; she just throws it in a ponytail for about 3 months and then styles for a day and back to the pony tail...

Your sorority sister sounds like she's got normal hair growth. In nine months, it's not unusual to have 4.5 hair growth, which is close to what you describe.

She might feel like others "went hard" on her,so maybe she chose a track that sort of "goes hard" in her response. But she did say at the end that the song was not meant to be taken personal.

This whole situation (w/ the youtube poser) is hilarious though. Good for her if she did get that much growth so quickly. I just watched the first video...I buy it. From jan to now at her length is wld take what - an inch per month? Not 2-3/mo. and isnt doubling the growth rate what everyone hopes growth aides will do for them anyway? erplexed

I believe it. I've had people accuse me of having a weave after BC my hair in the summer and having it down my back by Christmas and I use to do it every few years. In the first pic her hair is kind of scrunched upward so maybe it was actually a little longer and would have looked longer if it had been styled. Either way it is very possible and not as uncommon you think to grow hair that fast. My brother cuts his hair bald and by the morning has a very visible hair. I don't know if its real or not but if it is I have no problem believing. alot of groth has to do with diet and care but all in all I think its mostly in the genes just like some of us have a gene for thick, thin eybrows, long, short lashes etc. some of us have genes that tell our hair to grow at a faster than "average" rate. I just posted about my daughters hair taking so long to start growing and it started sprouting overnight so I def beleive it. And if its not true thats on her.

i know a girl who cuts her hair as often as she wants cause it just grows right back down. her REAL HAIR! she is mixed so i guess that has something to do with how fast it grows. she cut her hair in a cute bob earlier this year and she's already vack to BSL. No $#!T i have seen it for myself. neither she nor her sister ever wear weave. so it is possible for some peoples' hair to grow that fast. no need for skeptics, dont be sour cause your hair slow grows. i'm super happy for these people who dont have hair growth as their number one worry, what with gas prices and foreclosures. . .

Exactly. I wouldn't give a darn if nobody believed me. The proof is in my pics and while folks are still doubting, I would just keep my hair swanging. Some people give other folks too much power, time, energy and attention. Q

Its believable. My nape is an inch unstretched and flatirons out to 3 inches. That means it shrinks to a third of its size, which would mean that even if I had 9 inches of hair in my nape, it would only be like 3 inches wet.

So I could understand if that 2 inches of unstretched hair was really like 4 inches or even up to 6 inches. Could be, I don't doubt it. Kind of embarrassing for all those girls talking mess in the other thread though

I agree. Some did go hard on her in that first thread. Someone even said something about her wieght which was totally uncalled for. I think the song was appropriate considering what was said about her. I'd be mad too.

I think she's pretty and I love her hair. My niece's hair is the same way. She's bi-racial and her hair grows hella fast and she has crazy shrinkage. I was amazed to see a drawn up puff stretch out to beautiful healthy and really thick BSL swanginess. I think it's feasible.

I'm still wondering what all the fuss is about.
