My ends feel...well felt very fried. I cant imagine why. I wear a bun all the time. And I moisturize my ends with oil,and mango butter. I literally saturate my ends. anywho. I gave myself a light trim, then moisturized, and buned it up...could I be doing something wrong?

Maybe the oils you are using do not agree with your hair. How often do you wash? Do you use Shampoo when you wash? Eliminating the frequency you use shampoo and washing your hair more often will definitely help you retain moisture.

Maybe it's the oil. I loved the idea of using EVOO and other oils on my hair while I was transitioning, but it made my hair crispy and dry feeling. It went away once I stopped. Perhaps you could try leaving out the oil for a while and see what happens. What kind of mango butter are you using?

I know a couple of people who complained that Elasta QP Mango Butter made their hair hard, that's why I asked. Perhaps you could try other moisturizers? You wash once a week...do you mean with shampoo? If so, as has been suggested, consider washing with shampoo less often and cowashing frequently.

It made mine hard Cichelle, I use Dudleys PCA and NTM silk touch leave in on my ends it works great...at night i use castor oil...

Hi Girl,

Its the mango butter and saturating your ends. Just give your hair a good deep condition and then LIGHTLY moiturise the ends. Try a light creamy moisturiser rub throughly into your hands before applying to your hair

I had the same problem and thought my ends were damaged but there were not. Are you a fine stranded sister like me?

HTH, Let me know

Hi,
I recently tried the Hair Care Oil by L'Occitane. It's mostly olive oil and smells lovely. It's supposed to be a pre-shampoo treatment/ pre-swim treatment, but I use it on my ends 2x a day. I can hoenstly say my ends have NEVER felt so moisturized.

I also purchased a T3 Tourmaline blowdryer for my dominican blowouts (after a rollerset) and I have to say my hair has never been in better condition. I was so impressed with the blowdryer that I ran out and bought the 1 3/8 flat iron. They work so well I have to restrain myself from using any more heat.

Hope this helps!

PS: I had the same "hardening effect" with the QP Mango Butter.

I used mango butter and it always left my ends frizzy. I have had good results mixing wild growth oil with a moisturizing conditioner and applying lightly everyday.

Thats exactly what the problem is, sometimes our hair just cant take too much moisture. I dnt know if you have tried the baggie method!!! OMG my hair would just melted off. Try and be a little lighther with the moisturiser, throw that mango butter in the bin. I too brought as reccomeded by so many ladies on here that loved it. My hair hated and re-acted the same way as your did.
Everyone is different but I use Hollywood Beauty Olive Oil, I just fell in love with the ingredients list and I have never looked back. Another thing I swear by is Nexuss(Mixed with a little Jojobo, Carrot Oil) Con ITS THE BOMB at moisturiser, once I have deep conned my hair, then applied a little more as a leave in then roller set. My hair is already so moisturised I only apply moisturiser every otherday.

Girl I feel your frustrastion that was me 5 months ago. Girl Peep my album and see my ends a few months ago!!!!!!They were a hot mess. But all is good now

Just keep trying different things and see what works for you.

Good Luck, Keep me informed

Maybe it's time for a trim.

She doesnt need a trim, she just needs to find what works for her. I have been there using mango butter and various other products that jst dont work for everyone. If I was so quick to trim thinking that it needed it I wouldnt be where I am today.
