I love yoga...when I can get in the mind frame to do it

Haven't done it in a while, my body is so stiff! I like to go walking sometimes in my neighborhood for 30 minutes.

I ended up downloading the Down Dog app which I'd used when it was free at the start of the pandemic. I'm pretty much a newbie, but I like how much I can customize it and I do it before bed since I find that it helps me to sleep. Part of the reason why I started is because I found that my body was really stiff too. I'm out here dancing like someone's aunty. And while I am someone's aunty people don't know that and my moves don't need to give me away.

When the weather warms up, I'll start walking again, too.

Maybe I'll try doing that today...yoga...since I'm not doing anything else. Feeling super lazy today. Just drank some Earl Grey tea mixed with Coffee Mate Coconut Creme creamer to give me SOME kinda energy.

Are you committing to bi weekly photo posts?? :) If yes, are you starting this weekend? If you are, I'll do bi weekly posts with you until the weekend of May 24th unless @GettingKinky wants to do weekly posts

I'm not sure that I'm committing, but I posted my first picture in hopes that I'll stick with it. Sometimes, I just need a reminder to post and I'll post.:)

@Snoop I stumbled upon a video and was thinking about doing this challenge if enough people were interested. Would you want me to do the challenge here or start another thread?

It's a 75 day challenge that requires taking progress pics daily for 75 days. For those who struggle with the camera, put the camera setting for delay of 5 to 10 secs for stress free pics :)

Here is the link for the inspiration for the 75 day challenge

Lovely lady with thick tresses!

The tips you like best should be used from the video for the 75 day challenge

@GettingKinky @HealthyHair2020 @faithVA @VarieYvette @Chicoro @B_Phlyy @Theresamonet @MzSwift @pikkonoloidlee @CoiledOrchids @newgrowth15 @Kells @Bette Davis Eyes @Meritamen @GGsKin @SmilingElephant @yaya24

For those interested in the 75 day challenge where daily progress pics need to be posted in the thread let me know by replying to this post! You can take pics of one section of hair for simplicity, but it should be the same section of hair for consistency to document progress

If at least two or more people will commit to the challenge we can start on Monday :)

So, I only watched the beginning to find out what the challenge rules are. I definitely need to work on eating better. Not necessarily eating healthier but MORE. I need to stay consistent with three square meals a day. The second thing is the water drinking part. I'll try to check in weekly via this challenge with those two things.

@25InchesStarting'25 One thing that you should keep in mind when you're taking your pictures isn't necessarily length but also the quality of your hair. Doing the things that she outlined isn't necessarily going to boost the amount of growth you get, but it might improve the quality of growth you get. It can also change your sebum production, which could impact how your hair looks and behaves. So take note of those things as you go through the next two and a half months.

Is it weird that I'm looking up hair products that I want to use when I'm Hip/Tailbone length?

I was looking at these companies called Dasrivines (sp?) and Grow Gorgeous :look: and then I was like "Nah, I'll probably switch back to Aussie or Garnier Fructis or keep using L'Oreal because at least I can get them in BIG bottles!" :lachen:

I've also been eyeballing Aveda and Redken.

Why can't you use them now?

I'm also not doing my yoga tonight. one of my guy's has a cough and has woken me up in the middle of the night with a coughing for that lasted over an hour each time. I'm tired and this weekend is going to be busy. I'm going to try to get to bed early.

Because I'm using up all the products I have. I have too many...you should see my bathroom

I hope your babies feel better soon :heart3:

Honey helps with cough and sore throat

Thank you. I've just been giving him kids niquill so that it put him to sleep, too.

I should try honey. I've been hoarding it for my hair. :look:
If you’re into trying things  , I recently briefly heard of a viral trend of wrapping a slice of onion underfoot, anywhere from maybe 10- 30mins. I haven’t tried it myself but I would:look:. Onion does a world of good.

I'm sorry  I hope you all don't take it as bragging, I'm just sharing my journey and progress:hug2:

I don't have anyone in real life to talk hair with. I have a whole Facebook hair growth challenge group and no one is participating :cry3:

So I come here to share and get my fix :drunk2: I don't mean any harm.

My hair grows fast, but it's not really thick. It's medium/low density.

Have you tried any growth aides?
Don’t be sorry - I don’t take it as bragging it’s a fact about your hair. I’m happy for you. :)

I’m glad you can come here and get your hair conversation fix. I don’t really talk about hair in real life either. I don’t think any of my friend know how into hair I am.

I’ve never tried any growth aids. Maybe I’ll
look into that.

I'm on the fence about taking weekly pictures, but if you would commit to posting weekly pictures, we could start from weekend March 8th to weekend May 24th :)
I can do weekly pictures. But I’ll be on vacation for 2 weeks at the beginning of April so I doubt I will post for those weeks. When you say biweekly do you mean every 2 weeks? I can do that too

I’m up to 22 weeks weeks of washing/cowashing 2x a week and bunning every day.

I used to take my bun down every night or at least loosen it, but now I often sleep in my bun. I hope I’m not causing breakage. I worry that since my hair is constrained that when I move my head on the pillow the weight of my head could lead to breakage at the base of the bun. Even with my silk hair covering.

I need to stop being lazy and go back to loosening my bun before bed.

Hi everyone!!!

Been going through the thread to catch up. I haven't been online in a while as I was travelling for work.

@25InchesStarting'25 I would love to do the challenge, but I would probably be able to commit to weekly pictures. I try to do a low manipulation style that I keep in for a week, so I don't mess with my hair too much. But I would be in, except for when I have to travel for work.

My last wash day, I made a rinse with rosemary, cloves and hibiscus/rosella tea. I have been spraying this on my hair this whole week when I was travelling. My toxic trait is expecting to see progress after only a week of using this. But I will try to keep up with it, I have a spray bottle filled with this mixture that I want to use up. I will take down my African threading style sometime today to do my washday and install the next African threading style for the coming week. I do hope I will remember to take pictures today

Anyway, progress pictures so far. First picture was on 5 January, second picture 1 March. Definite progress that I am happy with, and my hair is getting darker and shinier with this regimen.

That is excellent progress. Looks like an inch a month.

I just watched the beginning of the 75 inches 75 days challenge. For sure I can do 3 of the 5 rules
- wash at least every 2 week
- eat healthly
- drink water

But I’m not going to give up my wide tooth comb for detangling and as we’ve discussed pictures will be weekly.

I stopped watching her video after the 5 rules because she does this smacking thing with her mouth and it was driving me crazy.

@GettingKinky and @VarieYvette thanks for committing to the challenge!! The challenge is from this weekend 3.8.25 to the weekend of 5.24.25
This should help us stay accountable with our regimens and keeping to healthy hair practice in daily life. Excited for our progress progress! :)

@GettingKinky already shared what tips she is taking from the challenge, what about you? @VarieYvette

For me...
-I'm already drinking plenty water. More than 30oz a day averaging about 50oz per day
-I don't use combs or brushes
-I wet hair almost daily and cleanse scalp 2x weekly
-I eat clean
-I take vitamins
-Will work on improving fitness for blood circulation (I'm in the 2025 Walking Challenge to help, haven't been doing that great so far  )
-Massaging scalp
**I can't remember is she mentioned massaging, but I know people with rapid and consistent growth make massaging a priority

@faithVA You should join us! weekly or biweekly :)
@snoop You think you can commit to Biweekly pics now? :)

Another major health tip is to stay away from seed oils (canola, vegetable, grapeseed, peanut, soybean, safflower, sesame, sunflower) I believe she spoke on this which was surprising (she really knows her stuff!) I don't think she went over what to use instead. You can use avocado oil, EVO (below 350), butter, ghee, lard (believe it or not it's healthier than seed oils :) ) I have not been consuming seed oils for a long period of time now. They are very toxic to our bodies and exacerbate a host of chronic inflammatory conditions and likely the increased incidents of skin cancer and other cancers over the years
Yeah I might. Let me reset my hair tomorrow and see where my head is at.

I mispoke about use of combs
I don't use brushes, but I do use Rat-Tail/Pin-Tail combs "partially" for parting hair in sections when needed. I say "partially" because I only pull the tail of the comb down a little bit then part the rest of my hair with my hands. Not sure if that made sense, but hopefully it does:)
