Hahah, my mom said I need to "tame it" and my sis had my back!

This is not a complaint or vent :) The comment from my mom didn't bother me at all! I just thought it was cool that my sister

I wore my few days old hair out in a fluffy huge fro with a the front pinned back the other day when I went by my parents house. It was more "fluffy and frizzy" than in my siggy because it hadn't be redone in a few days. My twin, who is natural now too was like "your hair looks different" (because she usually sees it in the puff) My mom says, "Yeah, it's getting long and thick!" and proceeds to grab at it (only mom can get away with that! lol). Then she says "It needs to be tamed" LOL, I laughed and told her "No it doesn't. I like it untamed" and smiled. My sister says "Yeah, there's nothing wrong with it". Now my sister is not the complimentative type and is very simple, not to concerned with fashion, style, etc, just very simple. She doesn't really say much or give much input or opinion unless asked, and even then it's usually "I'm staying out of this". So my mom had to give at that point and said "Well, you got the stamp of approval from your sister, so I guess it's ok"

I thought I'd share a different story about getting negative comments from the fam. Once you've come to really love your hair, those comments are easily brushed off and you just don't get upset by them anymore (or maybe the Christmas spirit has me immune, lol). I guess I just took it as my mom has her own style and I have mine. Because she may not have really cared for it didn't mean it was factually bad;) I LOVE this big untamed nest on my head, and I'm rockin' it for another day!

Merry Christmas everyone!!!!

That's Great!!! I get sooo many negative comments about transitioning to natural! And it's worse when they come from your family. Good thing for you though that they've started to be supportive! Your hair is sooo beautiful. You are my number one hair inspiration!!!!
