I went to this salon yesterday and I just need to rant. I have not had very much sleep because I am so angry...
she uses StyleSeat and when they asked me for a review this is what I posted:

I was appalled at the service I received at this shop. Awful, just awful....I had an 11:00 appointment and I was held hostage for 7 and a 1/2 hours! Full head weave with closure and they called it a Platinum Weave so they could charge me an outrageous price. Shandy should not hold herself out there as a professional if she can't do a service in 2 hours 45 minutes as she advertises. I found her on Styleseat and went to her because I thought she cared about the health of my hair, nope. I was given a reconstructor, Aphogee 2 min treatment which cost about $5.00 at Sally's and no other conditioner. My hair was cornrowed straight back and then her assistant attempted to take all these braids and braid them down. I had a big bump in the back of my head, I told Shandy this would not do because I sweat a lot and this hair would catch all of the sweat and start to stink. The assistant then took this mess a loose and sewed the braids up between the cornrows, now I have a smaller bump at the base of my neck. I finally got into Shandy's chair at 4:45, she sewed my hair in and it is really tight, which scares me because of traction alopecia. I finally left her salon at 6:30. This was one of the worst experiences at a salon. She is very nice, but not professional, I will not be going back!

Additionally I sent this directly to her, was I wrong?

This is exactly why I started doing my own sew ins and wearing wigs along time ago. I'm so sorry this happened to you I would take it out you wouldn't want to mess up your natural hair behind a horrible sew in.

Sorry you had this experience . Did you think about leaving after a few hours? I would have walked out after the 3 hour mark. are you going to take it down since its so tight? Might want to consider that .

Thank you guys sooo much and I stayed because I kept thinking she was going to get to me and she had the assistant working on me, some of the time. It's seems funny now, but when I got up to go to the bathroom, the assistant would start working on another client, so I was forced to go sit in the waiting area...LOL It was like musical chairs. I really should have left and not paid that ridiculous price.

I got this response from Shandy........Thank you for that review Ms Caroline. You were very kind and I knew that you were not happy. This was not a demonstration of my service typically goes. That is really frustrating to me because it was your first time and we know first impressions. And I just want you to know a few things. . . .the 2 hours and 45 minutes is the time until the next client can get started. A platinum weave typically takes about 3-4 hours depending on the client head size and hair density. I thought we discussed that in our consultation. Also, yesterday my first client did not tell me a situation with her hair which caused me to get behind working around that. And, the only reason that I used the apogee is because it really softens the certain hair types. I have a wide variety of treatments from caviar, to s- factor, to the salon exclusives, and the naked products which are all things that are not available at Sally and such stores. I just keep that on hand because over the years I noticed that it really works to soften, moisture, and mend hair bonds and stop shedding. That is all on top of the fact that I have a new assistant and receptionist. Who when we moved you up did not rearrange the schedule allowing the others to book. I sincerely apologize. I can't win them all, this is truly a first, but I know that with growing this comes along with it. Thanks again!

Not quite sure what she is trying to prove but I will never go back, NEVER! If she allowed 2 hours & 45 minutes no other client should have entered her shop until 1:45 pm and there were already 3 people sitting there including a full weave. 5 more people cam in after me, 2 relaxers and 3 needing wash/sets....UGH
I soaked my hair this morning and it feels much better, it will be hell taking this out. I'm going to try and remove some tracks to thin it out. I would post a picture but I'm too ashamed, I pulled it back in a ponytail this morning. Why do stylist do this to people? I guess because they can and I was a dummy to sit there and put up with this.......:(

Wow, that was a really awful, passive aggressive apology. Not only would I not go back, but I would spread the word to friends not to waste their money. Some people need to take a crash course on customer service. Whenever my old stylist would run behind, she would call me in advance and throw in a free trim/discounted service to make up for it.

She doesn't live up to her hype and then she made excuses on top of it. A protein treatment and nothing else to soften the hair?

I love you guys, you have made me feel sooo much better. I will try to get the word out so no one else has to suffer. I removed some of the tracks and my head feels so much better. She took my money and I hate myself for paying....but it's an experience I will never forget.

No she needs to stop being greedy and overbooking clients. I wrapped my hair last night and when I combed it down my track was loose.....
And I thought it couldn't get any worse.....:cry3:

Ooo.

Smdh. i dont even know what to tell you other than blast her all over the internet.

have you written a yelp review yet?

Overbooking is common in black salons. It's definitely one reason I stopped going to a black owned Salon which is sad.

I'm sorry that you had such a bad experience.

Well, you already knew that you should have gotten up and left, so............................I have nothing else.

I was thinking she should have at least given you a credit for a service.
That's the same thing I was thinking. It's messed up that she didn't even bother to offer to fix it (the bump of hair at her neck that OP mentioned), offer credit for a future service or something. That's crazy.
