OK my hair is doing really good now, but I am always looking for something that I can do to improve my hair regimen.

What is sealing? It seems like you have to wet your hair daily and then put oil on your hair afterwards? Is this what it is?

You can use water followed by a moisturizer or just the moisturizer alone, then seal with oil to keep the moisture in your hair as long as possible.

Don't have to get wet, just sealing usually comes after moisturizing / leave in conditioner. You are right you use oil to seal in

Pretty much so you don't deplete the moisture you get from your product as fast... thats the best i can explain it.

I "seal" with coconut oil because I read that it is one of the few oils that penetrate the hair shaft (it does not just sit on top of your hair). Lately, I have been using avocado oil - which I only use on my ends because it is so thick.

Thats right...I use coconut oil as well...After a wash I use Biolage Conditioner as a leave in and seal with coconut oil...I might try avocado oil..I saw it in Whole Foods and was tempted to buy...

There are so many benefits to avocado oil including hair penetration, but I did not like it on the whole length of my hair - only scalp and ends. A little goes a long long way - I found that out the hard way! I bought unrefined avocado oil - the dark green stuff from soapgoods.com

Ok ladies this is what I am getting confused about. Some people seal everyday. how is this taking place? I straighten my hair, so could I seal everyday too?

Oh ok I didnt know that coconut oil was oil that will actually penetrate. To be honest I used Specturm Coconut oil when I was relaxed and it did nothing. Maybe I need to try it now that I am natural and maybe a different brand.

You can seal everyday, but you don't have to. There are no hard and fast rules about sealing - what works for some may not work for others. You can seal with any oil including coconut, olive, castor, sweet almond, grapeseed, or jojoba oil. Again, it is what works for you.
