Henna Advice

I'm going to do my henna this weekend and I was thinking about making an amla powder tea and using it to mix the henna along with some conditioner. Anyone ever do this? Is this UNWISE?

I mixed Alma powder with my last henna with no problems. From what I've read, it's supposed to darken the hair some.

Thanks Coffee! I just thought using the tea as the water ingredient would make it simpler and I'd get the benefit of amla without making the mix. I guess I'll see how it turns out.
