Sunny On a Cloudy Day
I might be a little late ladies, but I see that Mehandi.com has pre-packaged henna/indigo bundles with cloves and selling them as Henna for African Hair. They also offer a root shooter (to get the mix onto your roots easier for touch ups). I purchased 2 bundles and a root shooter because Henna Sooq's website is not working and I couldn't wait.

Here is the link:

Another thing for me to buy.....<sigh>
Thanks for the tip...I love the "soften the curls part!!

ETA: When are you going to use it? We need an immediate review. I bet since you are using the OCT, there are no dryness issues what-so-ever with henna...right?

You are toooo funny AtlantaJJ!

I just ordered it a few minutes ago. I'll post a review when I use it. It won't be for another month or two; I have a little henna and indigo leftover that I am going to use tonight. I just don't like having no henna or indigo in the house at any time.

Yes, I OCT and 'll let you know if using Ovation products reduce dryness and make henna/indigo treatments better! :yep:

I don't know what happened to Kadija's site. I know she was having a baby so that may be the reason her site is not operating.

I hope she's okay but I'm excited about your find becaue I'm natural now and natural hair love henna...I was getting bored with the Jamila henna and wanted to do an indigo blend but was too lazy...it's as if the Henna Goddesses heard my dispare and created this kit!! I  it !!!

I'm hair obsessed ...how long is this aliment of mine going to last? :look:

I know! I haven't been buying from Mehandi in awhile because I was buying from Henna Sooq. Well, you can imagine my surprise to see all these new products! I was in  and had to order!

Being hair obsessed is not an ailment. It's a hobby. Enjoy

Thanks for posting. I was looking to buy some Henna for the first time and I came across your post. In fact I was on the Mehandi website reading about how to apply henna and indigo.

Did you see me there?

I thought I saw you go past! I recommend this site for purchasing high quality henna, indigo, cassia, etc. There is also Henna Sooq, but her site is not working for some reason.

HOw does this differ from the other henna she sells?

I don't think it does; just pre-packed. When you go to the site, it reads that the, the henna in these packs release deeper colors. I won't know for sure until I get it and use it.

I think its an attempt to appeal to the Black women who henna their hair. I am sure Catherine and her folks know that we at LHCF have a henna thread that is sceighty-eight million pages.

I've never used Henna before. I'll have to try it. My mom has been "dyeing" her hair " 'Auburn' for years so I'll have to suggest this to her.

I guess its just a marketing thing.... Love her stuff, though.

Do you think you will use your 2 bundles for 1 application? I was thinking maybe I need 2 bundles for hair that is grazing APL, for one application. Or would 1 be enough?

I think 1 bundle would be enough depending on how much hair you have.
I always just use 50 grams of henna and 50 grams of indigo because I don't have thick, long hair. So 2 bundles would give me 4 treatments.

^^^I ended up purchasing 2 bundles. I figure it's better to have more than less since I didn't really know.

Thanks for your help January:yep:

You are welcome Jetblackhair! We'll have to come back and post results .
I did a touch up to my roots with henna and indigo last night and I can tell you that since using the Ovation products, this is the first time my hair remained silky and smooth. It says that any services performed on the hair after using Ovation come out beautifully and it does. Both my touch up a week ago and now my henna/indigo. I can't believe this product.

It says on the site she will give a combined shipping discount...anyone take advantage of that? Did you have to call?

I didn't read about or look for any discounts. :ohwell:

I didn't notice anything about combined shipping. My shipping was $6.50. Did I miss out on a discount? :ohwell:

Me either. :ohwell:
I have to admit that I just buy things when I want them without worrying about the price. :look: It is a bad habit and one day when I am not so financially-able, I will be wishing I always looked for discounts and sales.

Hey JN!

I just talked to Khadija yesterday. She did mention totally redoing her blog, so maybe that affected her website. I just placed an order a few days ago and everything was fine. I did see the mehandi bundles before I ordered, but I just find that hennasooq products are so much cheaper, even with the extra shipping. I got a kilo of Jamila and also some rhassoul (including shipping) for the same price I would have paid for just the kilo of Jamila (shipping not included) at mehandi. I would be interested to know how you like the bundles though.:yep:

Hey Lavender! :bighug:
Thanks for the info on Khadijah. Maybe that's it. I'll go back and see; I like to buy from her too. Her product is so fresh and with good prices.
I'll let you know about the bundles. It's comes with gloves too!

You send an e-mail listing precisely what you are ordering, and then you get a paypal bill(whatever it's called). That's what I have done when I ordered from her.

Thanks for the informatin Ballerina_Bun! I dunno, I think that would be too much hassle for me unless I was ordering a big order.

Hey ladies! Was my site not working? What happened? I didn't know. If there ever any issues please just email me or PM me as sometimes I don't see things that others have seen. I haven't had the baby yet but I have been working on getting all my things together as well, as we are heading to Toronto this summer to move.

Sorry I have been out of touch lately.

Yeah I'm gonnna make a tiny comment...it sounds like a nice package with the regular herbal powders though ladies. Like henna and indigo, it's the same. There isn't anything that I saw that made me think it was something new. It might be different because it is put together, but that's what we do already. It has a new name too. Which is normal marketing.

Anyhow though if anyone tries it as I skimmed through the thread a bit let us know how it turns out :)

Okay read a bit more, glad that it work Lavendar, phew!
I did just re-do my blog so maybe there was a short spurt of it not working. The Henna Sooq site got a bit of a touch up and got a little bit more organized. So far so good. My blog is pretty! So excited about it!

Anyhow look forward to hearing about your bundles and such. It's a great biz idea :) I know someone who wants to start making herbal blends through us, and I look forward to that.

*sigh* subscribing to this thread...yet another thing I want to try right along with DenverGirl's shikakai co-wash mixture....

Is there a spot on the forum here where recipes and articles can be put up where people can regularly see them?

Just wondering if this is available here
