How do I Color hair Deep Burgundy w/Henna?

So I wanna color change but will NOT put chemicals in my head to color it. What do I need to buy do achieve a deep burgundy color using henna. Is it sold in colors?? I tried emailing the woman from Hennaforhair but got no response any help would be great!

I tried to get that color by using red tea. I wound up with a slight hint or red in my hair. Is there a surefire way to get this color?

Ya, Catherine is really busy They have a forum, log on to it, post that question to "lexie" and see what responses you get. Jamilla henna from hennaforhair is awesome. You will need more then one application to get what you are looking for. You can also look at the recipies that they have on there. I will be submitting my recipie and photos soon as well. i have done 8 or 9 treatments. I use 4 tbls of henna, 2 tbls of ground amalaki, 2 tbls of Fo-ti powder, coupla dashed of ground cloves, coupla splashes of red wine, honey(2-3 tbls) and hot water. I left it on my head of 16 hours the last time and my tips the last 2 inches or so are now the same color as the red wine that i used. Before that i only got the halo (hi-lite in the sun effect). Hope this helps a little.

In my mind, if you used strongly brewed coffee and raspberry zinger tea, that should give you a burgundy.

this recipe got my hair reddish burgundy:

50 g henna
1/3 cu apple cider vinegar and red wine
1/3 cu grape juice
1 tbsp avocado oil

heat the acv, red wine and grape juice to near boiling, and mix with henna; let sit for 12 hrs. Then add avocado oil prior to application. Put on hair over night, then rinse out

I concur! The grape juice and a nice merlot will absolutely give you a beautiful burgundy.

I like to use the henna from the Rajasthani region by Ayur or the Anoos brand. They give a bit of a burgundy after a few uses.

Try adding Beet root powder to your mixture also to make it more burgundy. I hadn't tried it, but I want to.
