*points at your avi*

Urm, girl. What's wrong with those GORGEOUS waves you are flossing there? Hrrrm? Look perfect to me... ;)

I'm no help, because I can't get waves, at all..... I just have to give you a shoutout...

After I wash and condition and leave-in, I put the Softee dark hair gel on the front of my hair to get rid of fly-aways and use a durag or a silk/satin scarf and tie it down nightly until fully dry.

I make sure my hair is detangled and combed/brushed straight back using a denman brush. This is the only way my waves can "pop" while stretching out my natural curl. This makes my 3b/3c hair look more 2b/3a-like....

:blush:Thanks for the compliment ladies! but i was just envying the ones that are even. mine seem like they are uneven or something

I agree with everyone else. Your waves are beautiful. I do the same as Tenacious. It works for me.

I completely understand what you are asking. Some people's waves seem very uniform, while others are more broken up. I would like to know how those that have uniform waves do so as well.

Your waves look good to me. Gel and water always worked for me. A scarf helps too.

My waves looked similar to yours, but 2 weeks ago I bought a Denman D3. I tried to use it to comb my hair before a wash and go and for some reason it made my hair shrink to about 3 inches (I'm almost brastrap length!!!). I couldn't figure out what to use the brush for, so I just used it for my my ponytails and it made my waves uniform. I don't know why but it even made my hair look like I have deeper waves. I can't explain it, but I'm definitely going to keep using it. :)

Is there anyone in this forum who's fotki or siggy pic you've been stalking :curtain:?
I co-sign with the scarf, water or gel and bristle brush. And your waves do look good!!:yep:

Mine are uneven too in some spots but what helps to make them more uniform is to apply some water and some type of heavy grease after brushing.

My waves look like your pretty waves Napp.

All I do is water, gel and boar bristle brush.

I use a boar bristle brush too and man, are they expensive. They charged me $4 or $5 at the BSS. I don't know but I think that is just too much for a brush.:nono:

Your waves look beautiful as they are. I appreciate my waves also and it doesn't matter to me how uniform they are--they still look good. Airdrying with a silk or satin scarf on my texlaxed hair always produces the waves I love. :yep:

napp,
The waves in your avitar are absolutely gorgeous and although I don't quite see the "un-uniformed" look you're talking about, I can share with you how I can get my waves to "pop". Just as one of the OP's said, the denman brush does the trick!!!

After I am done detangling in the shower, when I get out, I apply my leave-ins and do a once over with the denman to pull it up. Voila!!! Nothing more to do. There you have it.

(but seriously, I think the waves you have in your avi are already beautiful!!)

BB

Everyone's already said it.... lol. Your waves are pretty as they are. You've already got them! But as your hair continues to grow, the wave pattern loosens and it wont be so hard to get a looser, more uniform wave in the hair.

Anywho, your waves are pretty! At least you have waves. Some ladies want them and cant get them...

Lol.. that's me..
i can't get waves to save my life....
and the small waves that are in little patches of my head are totally non uniform....:look:

Thanks every one. i do have a few fotkis i have in mind but im not gonna call them out and thanks for the coupon! i think i might get more than a brush though:look:

My Fantasia IC with sparklites and a good ol' brush do the trick. Then I always tie it down with my silk scarf for at least 20-30 minutes...I do know guys that "train" their hair with do-rags though...but they put them on every single night to get the waves but it seemed to work when they did it!

My waves look like your pretty waves Napp.

All I do is water, gel and boar bristle brush.

Same here.& after i brush it down i do this constant smoothing motion with my hands over the same spot for about a minute...that may help it too...?

Its not something i ever purposely tried to do....it just....waves up that way.

My waves look like your pretty waves Napp.

All I do is water, gel and boar bristle brush.

Same here ... I just use distilled water, Fantasia IC Gel with Sparklelites (the blue one for color treated hair) and my trusty boar bristle brush.

Oh ... and I also think your waves are gorgeous, Napp. :yep:
