I've seen some posts where some of you are saying that your hair has too much protein. I think I read someone say it was "elastic". What does this mean and how do you know if you are using too much protein in your hair? Will it start shedding or what are the signs?

I thought it meant that your hair was too soft? I don't know and can someone tell me what "elastic" hair is. I think I have that but I'm not really sure. And is this bad to have?

For my hair:

Too much protein = hard, brittle hair

Too much moisturizing conditioner = excessive shedding, extremely soft hair

ok I see. So is it bad to have elastic hair?

No. Elasticity is a good trait for the hair. It means your hair will "stretch" without breaking.

ok great I guess I was worried for nothing. My hair is so stretchy I thought something was wrong with it. Guess I"m overeacting. Thanks ladies.

I've also heard that if you've been using a lot of protein and notice your end look like they are frizzy it could be due to too much protein. I don't know if it is true or not but it was said that the protein causes the end of the hair to swell up = frizzy lookin.
