I ready for my next sew-in and I would like to be able to shampoo my sew-in 1x a week. The last time I had a sew-in w/ a net, i used ORS aloe shampoo, poured some in a spray bottle and added water. The bottled foamed up but I put it on my hair anyway. I thought everything was ok but when I took my sew-in down, I had so much build between the braids. I would like to know how do you make diluted shampoo and what is the technique to using it? Was a using a spray bottle the wrong thing to do?

I just use one of those small color applicator bottles. I pour in a little shampoo (a couple tablespoons) and then fill the rest with water. It shouldn't really get foamy (if you're using a shampoo that lathers).

The tip makes it easier to control where the shampoo is going...once on I make sure to massage with my fingers and rinse really really really really well. No buildup whatsoever.

I think you just need to make sure you rinse well, no matter what you do. Some of that buildup was probably from conditioner or leave ins as well. I learned that while in a weave, because my hair is completely protected, it doesn't need a lot of stuff.

thank u msa. I don't think i rinsed well enough. I was just spraying my hair with water instead of going under the faucet. That helped alot. Thank u much.
