How long Do you Deep condition your hair

I deep condition for 2 hours wearing a plastic cap using NO heat. When I started conditioning my hair for longer periods of time, it started feeling more moisturized.

I deep condition twice a week on Wednesday and Sunday nights. I use Lekair Cholesterol Plus.

For YEARS I use to deep condition w/o heat for about 1-2 hours, but now I see the big deal about using heat, it really does change how my hair feels. I've been deep conditioning with heat since last Aug and my hair loves it. The other day I tried to deep condition without heat with Alter Ego garlic conditioner and when I rinsed the conditioner out my hair just didn't feel as conditioned as when I use heat eventhough I had it on my hair for at least an hour .

Well I get it deep conditioned at the Dominican salon, and they usually set the drier for fifteen minutes. I dont know if thats standard, or a bit shorter.......

My stylist does this too, but the minute she turns her back, I increase it to a minimum of 30 minutes. I don't know it fhtey just want to hurry on to the next client or they're saving up on energy billserplexed, but I think my hair needs more than 15 minutes of DC'ing. When I DC at home though, it's for a minimum of 40 minutes to an hour.

This has not been the case for me after a henna treatment. My hair would laugh at me if I only DC'ed for this amount of time after any ayurveda powder treatment.

Without heat: Until....... Sometimes I leave it in my hair for hours if I'm busy......or watching an interesting movie...or two. I've even left it in overnight on several occasions to no ill effect. But I always use a cap.

THANK YOU FOR BEING IN THIS THREAD. I was starting to think i was a freak!! it depends on whether I have heat or not, but I have been known to leave conditioner in my hair for HOURS. not every day, but especially if I have been stetching, I will leave it in my hair a good hour or two if it's moisturizing or cholestorol. If it's a protein, then 15 minutes only with heat

If your dryer gets hot enought to open the cuticle, 20 minutes of deep conditioning should be sufficient

I DC twice this holiday weekend. Sat I DC w/heat 15-20mins with heat then let it sit another 45 mins. Monday I DC for an hour w/heat then let it sit for 5 mins. Since I had time off, thought I do something special for my hair.

Depends. If I am at the salon, it's about 20 minutes under the dryer. If I am doing it at home, it can be anywhere from 30-60 minutes either under the dryer or just under a cap and me running around and doing things.
