Yes. I don't worry about my roots as much as I worry about my ends. They're the oldest and most prone to dryness/breakage. It doesn't take much to moisturize your hair.

After I wash 8 but in between washes I don't part. I just add some to the nape.and edges first, add some for the roots and then scrunch into the ends. Assuming I'M wearing curls

I separate my hair into 4 sections to moisturize and seal. Doing this allows me to moisturize and seal my roots really good. The end result is smooth feeling moisturized and sealed hair and ends.

When I do M&S (usually don't really have to these days) I usually only do my edges and nape and part a diamond or circle in the center of my head to get access to my crown but that's it.

I only do 2 on a daily basis. I focus on my edges, nape and ear length down. Once out of the week on Tues or Wed I'll separate in 4 to moisturize and seal. Once a week I wash and condition my hair in 6 braids though. I do this to prevent detangling and making sure the conditioner gets to the roots.

4 or 5. My crown area likes to do its own thing. It's a whole different texture so I usually make 2 sections in the front, 2 sections in the back & 1 section in the crown area. If I'm too lazy then I just do the 4 sections with 2 in the back & 2 in the front.

I divided my hair in six sections; two in the front and then four in the back. From my forehead to my crown is 4A and from the crown to my nape is 3C/4A/4B.

I originally part my hair in four sections... but then I section each section into two parts... I like to really get in there and moisturize and seal... Soooo... there's 2 sections in each of my four sections... I feel like that gives me the chance to reach my entire head... each strand gets some, and it's not a hit or miss. I just feel like doing the sections in fourths doesn't cover enough area... my hair is thick tho...

I only M&S my entire head after washing it, and my sections are always at least 8 (max 12). When I do less I end up with too much hair in the middle and throughout the sections with no coverage. I do like to separate my sections in halves to detangle, so my Denman can glide easier and I remove more shed hair that way too.

When I M&S daily I just do the sides, top and bottom. I'm transitioning so I do not touch the length once it's already set.

I have multiple textures and they wach have different needs. So I split my hair down the middle, then do two sections for my hair at the front, two for the middle, and two for the back. The front four sections take forever and a day to detangle and moisturize. The back two take very little time

I'm in TWA phase so I don't section ( well even at relaxed bsl I never sectioned). I detangle in shower and moisturize and seal on towel dried hair then airdry.

I don't really M&S but I part my hair in four sections to cleanse and condition and usually 4-6 sections to style right after washing. If I do apply a moisturizer or oil in between washes, I don't section, I just spread it through.

*FIRST POST* I'm sooooo excited to be apart of this community now but I actually don't wash my hair in sections, I wash it loose. I keep reading stories of people saying if they don't section their hair it tangles but mine does the exact opposite, the water just melts my tangles away and I have thick 4a hair. When I use to go to hair salons they use to tell me if they didn't comb or detangle my hair before wetting it, it would mat up, but I knew for me that wasn't true but I'd let them break off my hair anyways but yea when I tried sectioning my hair for wash day it just was not for me, it took FOREVER, I felt like I couldn't properly clean my scalp and I felt like it was just unnecessary manipulation

4 sections -----My hair basically stays in 4 sections. I wash and condition in 4 sections, I moisturize in 4 sections, I twist in 4 sections, and then I pull it back in a ponytail. I don't seal.

However, my hair is low density and short so its not like I'm working with a whole lot.

EDIT: Actually I don't part my hair but make sure to apply my products by running my fingers through my hair so all parts get covered.
