With shampoo? Is anyone washing more than once a week? Please do tell.

Frequent washers: are there any benefits for your hair and scalp?

Right now I am washing once a week, but my scalp is begging me to increase that to twice a week.

If you only cowash how often are you cowashing? I couldn't edit my OP, but I would love to hear from you ladies as well.

I wash every 5 days, since I use heat weekly. Before it was every 3 days. I can't go longer than that or I will have build up problems.

I shampoo weekly and rotate Cush Cosmetics' Mango shampoo bar and a sodium bentonite clay/ACV mask cleanse. During the week I co-wash (following Anthony Dickey method). If in the mood I may throw in a clay mask mid week. The only time my scalp itches is when I use Jamaican Black Castor Oil. I prepoo w/this thinned out w/coconut oil. @Prettymetty

I used to cowash often when I was relaxed, but for some reason my natural hair doesn't like too much moisture. In fact, I have to use a protein conditioner after each wash.

Maybe I can keep washing once a week and then do a mid week protein cowash. I have Mane and tail or Aphogee 2 minute.

Once a week and midweek co-wash.

At 10 weeks post touch up, I am doing shampoo one week and co-wash the following week. So biweekly.

What kind of shampoo do you use?

Currently I'm using Creme of Nature Argan Oil sulfate-free shampoo. It's really nice.

I also use Garnier Fructis Pure Clean shampoo (I'm pretty sure that's the name). Sometimes I bust out my Suave Daily Clarifying 'poo for when I need a heavy duty clean :)

I cowash/oil rinse 3 weeks out the month, and shampoo (clarify)/DC 1x/month. I've been doing this maybe 5-6 months now and it's the first time in my whole 5 years natural that my hair actually retains moisture.

I shampoo about 5 times per week. I would shampoo daily if I had the energy.

My hair is fine and becomes weighed down if I look at it hard enough. Truth is, I really like how my hair behaves when it's clean.

I use Keracare's Hydrating & Detangling with oil added to the bottle. I figure the ratio is 2 parts shampoo:1 part oil. The shampoo is sulfate free, so this works well.

I have no scalp issues because of this. I also find it helps to stimulate my scalp as I don't always find time to sit and do scalp massages as I'd like.

I shampoo my scalp twice a week with Shea Moisture. I dilute it in an 8oz applicator bottle, 2.5-3oz poo & 5-5.5oz water & a little preservative. I apply it to my scalp only. It takes about 4 washes to go through the entire applicator bottle. The dilution still lathers and cleans my scalp, but with zero dryness.

I tried cowashing once, but it gave me the itchies. Cowashing didn't appeal to me before that lone attempt, so I didn't bother trying again.

There was a thread here recently about scalp issues from co-washing and using Wen. After that, I went back to washing instead of co-washing. I do it three times a week because I work out 3-4 times per week.

I shampoo once a week, but if I need an extra wash mid-week, I'd co-wash because every time I shampoo I have to follow up with a DC...and I just don't have that much time during the week.

Once a week. I recently tried the As I am coconut co wash and my relaxed hair really like that so I may add a co wash in mid week.

Shampoo every 2 weeks. {I no longer wash weekly}
CoWash - almost never; my hair hates it
CoCleanse - as needed if I have to wash before my normal wash day

I shampoo weekly right now with water diluted shampoo. I didn't care for cowashing before but am open to trying it now that I've used a decent cleansing conditioner. I should stop being lazy and wash my hair every 4-5 days..

I go co wash daily. Mainly with Aussie moist, as I am cowash, or tresemme flawless curls conditioner. I haven't had any scalp or build up issues. I brought some tresemme shampoo and used it yesterday and it is as ok. I may start shampoo one in while. I have also used cantu co wash with good results.
