i.e. blowdryers, flat irons, curling tongs etc

I would have to say twice a month - Just to experiment with new styles. When I get to get to 8 weeks post, I flat iron my roots only with a 1/2 inch iron every week.

I blowdry once a week. and then i MIGHT flat-iron afterwards and wear a wrap for the rest of the week. Or after i blowdry, i will use steam rollers every 2 days.

Before I found LHCF, I was using direct heat (flatIron) every single morning. Now, I don't use my flat Iron at all(It's been 3 months, and I'm 15 weeks post relaxer). I use my Ionic Hood Dryer when I am trying the flexi-rod style; therefore, I would say once a month before. Since I haven't gotten the flexi-rod style right yet, I haven't been using heat at all.

i use heat about once a month, and only for that one day, before it all reverts beautifully!! :D This is only to check my length, but i try to get a style out of it too. The straightness never lasts, but what the hey, back to my twists

since i found lchf i hardly use it any more. The total use of heat for this year was 4 times. The first time was for new years eve, I was about 8 weeks post relaxer. Another was for my birthday. The other 2 times was to go out. My hair just was not drying fast enough.

i haven't used direct heat since april or may. i don't plan on using heat anymore for a long time, if at all.

wow when you think about using heat once a week that doesn't seem like that much but when you break it down into times per year 52 times seems like a whole lot! I'm going to try to use heat (blow dry) only once every two weeks but that will be almost impossible

This year, I've used heat about 5 times.

Next year I hope never to use it ... (except with deep conditioners... I don't think that's damaging at all).

Otherwise, I avoid heat ... if there's an emergency and I MUST get my hair done quickly, I'll use an ionic blow dryer (which is supposed to be good for your hair).

My old favorite was a huge hot air curling iron that could dry damp hair and curl it at the same time. I loved that thing ... but it was damaging and I had to cut it out years ago. I still have one, but I never ever use it.

Now, if I get up late for work... would you believe I can condition wash and dry my hair in 30 minutes:eek: . Yep, I unwisely sit in front of a fan and shake my hair periodically until it dries. It takes about 20-25 minutes to fan dry it the fan's on high and you don't use liquid leave ins ... spraying a sealer or glossifier also helps it dry fast -- so does shaking! .

Luckily I have not gotten a cold from this method, but I do sometimes get the sniffles.

Ideally, I need an hour to an hour and a half to air dry my hair so I'm just planning of going to bed earlier so I can get up , work out, air dry ... Caruso and do no damaging heat.

And to tell the truth, my hair looks just as great when I air or fan dry as when I use heat. The only real benefit of heat is convenience for me, it doesn't make my hair look that much better ... so it's not worth the risk.

the last time i used heat was last night before that i really dont remember... i did the bc aug 31 04... so sometime before then is when i used heat... i dunno when next ill be flat ironing but probably not too often cause i love my hair curly...

monister

Twice every 3 months. I do a apogee deep conditioner and the following week I color. I use a hood dryer for both.

I'm a once every 2monther. I didn't even realize that it was only 6 times a year I would actually apply heat to my hair. I use to use heat once a week without much problems but I wanted to stay clear of any breakage whatsoever.

Have not used heat since late 2003. Whoo that feels good to say that. I think about it though, until I hear some horror story about burnt hair, then it cures me from the craving.

Whenever I feel like it, which is on average twice a year. Mostly for Christmas, LOL, I don't know why, people think I look better with curly hair anyway.

Just giving you a shot out!!! Your hair is beautifull(that's with two L's)

Never. The last time I used heat was years ago. So, I can't see a reason to go back to it now. I suppose one day I might want to use a flat iron. But it won't be any time soon.

Well I voted once a month since I just got a brand new blowdryer (I've used it 2 times in one month). I try to avoid heat, I would say generally I use heat every 3 or 4 months...I maybe using more since I'm on the C & G challenge, I'll blowout my hair just to see the length.
