This was an add on treatment I asked for last night when I went to get my semi-annual hair trim. It was an additional $30, and once I found out what my stylist used, I will not be getting it again.

She mixed my moisture concoction of Beautifying Oil and Elixer, squirted this on my hair, massaged it into my scalp and put me under the dryer for 10 minutes. That's it...she then washed and conditoned with Smooth Infusion and proceeded with the blowdry/flat iron/trim.

Ok, my question is what was Elixer? I know its discontinued in the stores, is there a comparable product out now? I won't be adding on this Therapy again, since I can mix oil and conditioner and sit under my dryer for free at home. I just thought I'd be getting something REALLY SPECIAL at Aveda. Don't get me wrong my hair is fabulous and soft, but that was an overpriced prepoo treatment to me :ohwell:.

That sounds like a rip-off of the damage remedy treatment:
Damage Remedy Hair and Scalp RenewalSM
A potent sensory experience and intense repair for hair.
It begins with scalp, neck and shoulder massage—with up to 12 aroma-therapeutic essential oils—to increase scalp circulation while targeting pressure points that release tension. Then hair is treated with one of two intense repair formulas: Moisture Immersion, for up to 71% softer, smoother strands; or Strength Infusion, for up to 71% more resistance to combing breakage. At every step, aroma-therapy elevates, soothes or recharges.

Which I have recieved and loved, can't buy that oil blend or the lovely massage, lol. If you look here: http://aveda.aveda.com/enter/stores/spa_services.asp

you will see what services they offer, and Hair Therapy isn't on there. Sounds like a waste of your time and money.

You know, that's what I THOUGHT I was going to get!! Some Moisture Immersion...But, I didn't tell yall I was redeemed in the end. My stylist messed up on the pricing, and I only got charged $30 for the whole shabang...instead of $30 + $50 for the cut/style :yep:. Did I tell? Heck naw, I knew that Therapy was a waste.

Great!!!!:yep: That's what the stylist gets for trying to get over on that "hair therapy". Did you go to an Aveda concept salon or the institute?

To the OP, did you get all that or just the scalp massage? I would defintely pay $30 for a scalp, neck and shoulder massage alone! :yep:

It's a Lifestyle/Concept salon/spa which makes it even worse!!! :ohwell:

I did get a scalp massage, mini facial, and arm massage. But, that is a complimentary service they offer with all their hair services I believe...no neck and shoulder :nono:

The only things I use consistently from Aveda are the DR line and my Brillant damage control spray.
