Do you absolutely need to add foam/setting lotion when doing a braidout/twistout on wet hair?

Or is it just to be sure to set the curls or what?

Can I just use some salerm 21 and sweet almond oil?

TIA for responding!:)

I don't use it, but I said I would next time for extra hold.

I usually just let it dry about 75% and braid damp, using moisturizer.

I don't think you do but it's nice to use a lotion so you can keep the curl for longer. Remember that the longer the curl lasts the less you have to manipulate your hair.

I depends on your hair. Usually the more defined the curl parttern in your hair, the less product you need to have a good braid out. My 4/A, 4B hair will look like Side Show Bob by mid day without some type of hold product. If you have a perm, you probably don't need a lot of product to maintain the waves.

No.

I use lustrasilk shea butter cholestrol while putting in my cornrows/flat twists and results are in my siggy.

thks ladies for answering

mummysgirl, every time i see your siggy I have to wipe a lil bit of drool from my keyboard :giggle:
