THANKS FOR THE COMPLIMENTS EVERYONE =+). good thing i was lurking around and noticed this thread.

here's some tips i can think of for now, i'll look for emails i sent others on how to rollerset and copy and paste as i find.

the best thing i could have done when starting out in rollersetting was using a three sided mirror in my bathroom that allowed me to see what i was doing in the back and all over my head. that way i could see the direction the rollers were going in and how straight my parts were. as for rollersetting it's much easier to start out using the least amount of rollers a possible then when you get better you gradually add more. i started out at 16 now use 25-28. keep a water bottle around. i did find it easier to start at the right front part of my head by sectioning that off then tying the rest of my hair back so it wouldnt get in the way. now i would have a small section to work with. i know the conventional way is to start in the middle(mohawk) but i found that took too much manipulation and you cant really see whats going on in the back.

also when parting each section and getting ready to roll it remember to comb FORWARD and then lay the hair on the roller and roll backwards. this helps so much with having enough space for each roller to fit on your head. then use the clips that slide all the way thru on each side of the roller right in the middle and proceed to the next part. I also clip each roller together with the long black bobby pins. using all these clips and bobby pins keeps my hair very secure. nothing is falling out of place.

Bree B-E-A-U-T-I-F-U-L, lovely. Where can i find some of that rusk stuff. Someone tell me please. Thanks.

they have rusk everywhere. i've seen them at eckerd, publix and cvs. but if you want to make sure youre getting the real deal i'd suggest going to tradesecret.

Hi all,
I've been using the mesh rollers, but I'd like to try the magnetic ones again. I can't seem to keep the rollers in. They slide out!
Bree- any advise as to how to keep the darn things on your head? What kind of clips are you using? I tried the duck clips with no luck. I tried long bobby pins- no luck.

Anyone else- feel free to chime in!

TIA

Hi Aileendq,

When you place your pins and clips on the roller, where are you putting them.? It's hard to explain without a visual, but the clip has to be as close to the scalp as possible. The clip has to hold the hair on the roller as well as the section of hair at the roots. That's how you secure the hair and keep it from being wobbly. I hope that made sense.
