I'd probably wear fake hair. Celebrities get their hair done every day it seems. I wouldn't put my natural hair through that.

No. I don't like weave. :nono: Plus I am always asked if this is my "real" hair anyways, so I don't think it would matter.

I would wear those bangin lace front wigs like Tyra and B. Why manipulate my hair when I can style, tease, curl and roll someone elses!!!

I love hair! Fake or Real...If I were a celeb I'd rock the fake stuff cuz I know what the heat and lights and hairstylists can do to your hair. I wear the fake stuff all the time and everyday I'm doing something different. I would never lie about fake hair. Hair to me is an accessory and should be changed up according to your mood! My hubby loves the fact that I can look so different just by changing my hair!

I'd NEVER wear my real hair while working. Too much manipulation. I'd def rock my fro on the off days though

It depends on the type of celebrity I was. Being famous doesn't always mean being 'Beyonce' and/or a model/actress. I understand why folks like that rock fake hair--to an extent. Too much manipulation. It's interesting that they rarely (if ever) use natural textured weaves though. That would likely be my choice in terms of a compromise...Just to push the envelope in terms of what is beautiful...But the folks pulling the strings in the beauty industry would probably find a way to punish artists who always wore their hair like that (less maybeline adds etc)...I get it. I understand their situation...Unfortunate reality for us 4a/b/5's right now in terms of Hollywood images. Bottom line.

But If I were a different type of celebrity, say an Oprah, or a Michelle Obama (during the LAST days of Barak's FINAL term--that is), or someone like that. Where I was in a position of clout, I'd be very tempted to rock a natural style. In fact I remember seeing a clip of Oprah as a news anchor in the 70s rocking a fro. It was cute. Apparently, she wouldn't be caught dead like that now while on stage. I find that interesting considering that she's basically writing her own ticket, AND part of her shpeel is self-acceptance/self-love. Maybe she's worried she'll offend her audience (mostly white women). Maybe Andre isn't as adept at natural (4-5 textured) hair styling other than straightening it...Wouldn't it be cool though if she rocked it natural on (at least) the LAST day of shooting of her show before she retired? And/Or if Michelle did it on the LAST day of her husband's LAST term (at least)? What a revolution THAT would be!

Peace.

I can't imagine all the blowfrying, flat ironing, gel, lights, hairspray, etc. that could damage my long healthy hair that i have worked diligently and patiently to achieve. Celebs are exposed to these damaging items daily so weave all the way baby!

I've never worn a wig, weave, extensions, braids, anything but my real hair. That said, I know I am not working my butt off to get my hair in tip-top condition to let people I don't know get up in my hair. So I'd probably wear a weave or wig, with one caveat: I'd want my weave to actually look like my real hair. It's not to say you won't notice the difference, but I'm not going to have natural hair and wear a stick straight weave. They can manipulate the weave all they want, but getcho hands out my hair!

I would no doubt be wearing a wig or weave to protect my real hair.....No way in the world would I let my hair go through that much abuse by that many stylist...

Do you realize what they have to do to your real hair to be beautifully stylish on a regular basis? Not even type 1 hair could stand the abuse.

I've never worn a weave in my life but I honestly think that if I were a singer I would probably wear weave. If I were an actor, Id probably rock my natural hair.

omg its so hard to keep up your hair on tours and still look "better" than everyone else in the crowd... and u got to cuz they came to see you...
wigs make it so easy but then everyone is like: that heifer has no hair!
And I'm natural so the best way for me to go (before LHCF) was mousse... and it still poofed up...
i just decided not to go to the BET awards cuz I'm bunning right now... funny how my hair was the final decision maker LOL
But anyways, the 1st pic is me natural on stage... which i was clowned for
the 2nd is me bout to do a show in a wig... and some of the females asked me where my real hair was...
And then the last one was how I wore my real hair when I opened for DJ Unk, and then what happened to it after LOL... I look as scruffy as he did after all that "walk it out" and "2 step" business for 30 mins LOL and I don't even dance on stage... LOOK AT MY EDGES!!! LOL

I'd wear wigs mostly, just to make sure my real hair didn't get damaged. Here and there it would be my hair that everyone saw.

i've pondered about this for years (no...seriously lol )

i've now come to the conclusion that I would have a series of human hair half wigs that I would rock to protect 75% of my hair. i would also get the wigs in my real hair length so that when folks saw my real hair out and about there wouldn't be that :perplexed factor.

i love protective styling. no way in hell would i use heat on my hair on a regular basis.

i still cant believe Oprah wears her real hair on the air everyday. I guess she has the money to keep it super healthy. i love letting my hair rest though so even if i had her dough I'd still be protective styling.

just a couple days ago i saw Jada Pinkett Smith rocking her real hair on the pilot of Hawthorne and a part of me cringed like "no Jada put it away!!!" :lachen:

if I knew how to tie headwraps in lots of nifty ways I would honestly just rock those and protective style 90% of the time.

For photo shoots I would use hair pieces and lacefonts because celebs change their looks for different photoshoots, different colours, lengths and textures. But after the shoot is over I would remove them and rock my hair the majority of the time. it also depends what work Im doing am I a music artist or an actress or a pointless 'celeb' like Kim K

A combination. Celebs do a lot of things and get their hair styled way more often than we do I should think. I'd rather some fake hair take that abuse than my own.

I would wear fake hair when I had to undergo multiple costume/hairstyle changes - I'm thinking photoshoots and performances.
Interviews - I'd be wearing my own hair.
Magazine articles - own hair.
Walking down the street on my day(s) off - own hair.
Basically, I'd only wear the fake hair when I would not be willing to allow my own hair to be manipulated as much as is required, and I would have a stylist that I could work with who would come up with concepts and ideas that supported the wearing, and low-manipulation styling of, my real hair.

This is how I feel too. I'm not going to have some stylist rip through my hair for photoshoots and performances. Slap a wig on my hair for that.

Any other time it's my real hair.

I'm about 90% certain that I would not. My hair would have to endure styling from photoshoots, tv appearances, events etc. I'm sure a lot of that styling would include heat. I have a strong feelings that many of these hairdressers would not care too much about treating my hair well; their main priority would probably be just creating a style that looks very nice. I don't think my hair could deal with all of that manipulation. If I had a dedicated stylist who came everywhere with me, I may be inclined to switch between wearing my own hair and fake hair for convenience.

I think many celebs saying their fake hair is real is more about trying to maintain a certain image. There are white celebs with hair pieces too trying to pass off that ish as if it's theirs when it isn't.
