Hello ladies and gent(s)! I've been gone since August for personal reasons, but I've still been diligent in my hair care practices and my desire to transition. My last relaxer (texlaxed) was November 13, 2007, I've been doing mini chops along the way and maintaining a length between BSL and MBL. Up until last week, I'd been mainly wearing twist outs, wash n go's, and buns. Staple products have been KBB Hair Milk, Hair Nectar, Hair Oil, LL Mask, Elucence MB con and poo. Y'all know I'm a horrible PJ and buy lots of other things, but these are staples (for right now).
On to the BKT...I was a skeptic but after doing Fab's hair back in July and seeing the results, I was pretty much sold on trying it at least once. Fast forward to the beginning of this month. I got on Ebay to find Softliss for reasonable and saw a bunch of other brands. I did a google search of each brand and lo and behold, almost every search brought me right on home (LHCF). After reading about DreamHair, that's what I decided to go with. I did it myself one evening on a whim. I washed beforehand and used New Original Colors Cellophane from RBH then went on thru the BKT process. A couple things I won't be doing next time: a) using their shampoo to clarify b) blowdrying 100% before application. That shampoo was sooo drying and my hair was hell to blowdry and I won't be doing that again! I've attached before and after pics, including pics of my final result after washing out the bkt and styling. As far as the cellophane is concerned, I'm going to have to try it again in about another week. The color didn't take to my roots at all but this could be due to a couple of things; first of all I didn't sit under the dryer as directed and it's possible my hair is a bit more resistant to cellophanes now after using henna for the past year. I'll be able to give a more fair review of the cellophane once I try it again and use it as directed. Now, on to the pics....I just attached thumbnails because I was too lazy to do anything else
The ones attached to this post are of my hair before BKT then after applying and blowdrying, then after washing and DC'ing for the first time after BKT. More pics in next post.
