Had to share this with you guys.

So, I flat ironed my (almost mbl?) hair this week for my family reunion & this was the first time my coworkers have seen me wear my hair pin straight to work, since I usually rollerset or bun. I have this White co-worker who has a reputation for being stuck up & unfriendly (since she rarely talks to anyone). I haven't had a problem with her & she's nice enough, but I get a bad vibe from her. Anyway, it's day 2 of flat ironed hair & I see the girl in the bathroom at the end of her shift. I walked in & smiled at her & she says:

"Hey! I saw you walk by yesterday & I was like, is that Brittany?! I wanted to tell you that I LOVE your hair & I'm just so jealous. It's really beautiful!"

I was like, Did this girl really just say that she's jealous of my hair??!! Now, she has like shoulder length, blunt cut, thick, color treated hair that she flat irons every day & it's in pretty good shape. I have NEVER heard her give another woman a compliment.

I told her thank you, and I instantly felt like, dang, this hair journey is really paying off! This is the longest my hair has been in my adult life. I'm a perfectionist when it comes to my hair & I sometimes feel like I need a trim & that my hair might be dry looking or something when I wear it straight. Probably because I'm used to moisturized & sealed hair. To be honest, I usually don't like to be fawned over because a compliment is usually followed by: "Oh my hair won't grow like that", or "So did your mother have long hair?"

Anyway, she said "I'm really just so jealous!" right before she left. LOL. I feel so good about my hair right now & I just had to share my joy with you guys. Feel free to post your own story below, because I'd love to read it.

Also, please don't cuss me out for not posting a pic along with this because I live alone & my friend is at work right now, so she can't help me take a good one. LOL. I do have a Youtube channel & here's a length check from July if you're interested:

Thanks for reading!

pretty hair is pretty hair is pretty hair. And your hair IS pretty :yep:

Just means your co-worker may not be as horrible as people make her out to be.

Lol. I think being on this site makes us biased and it may take someone "normal" to point out to us that out hair has indeed gotten long. Congrats on all your progress, your hair does look great. :) Glad your co-worker could acknowledge that.

Aw, what a great story to start the day! FF'd thru your vid to get to the good stuff (4:08), love your hair and love the colour!

What's the point in growing your hair eh if you don't get those days where you feel... "So glad I started this hair journey, I LOVE MY HAIR!"
We all gotta have those days, glad you managed to have yours.

My story was after I took my hair out after hiding for nearly 2 years was having people say... "No, no way, that is not all your hair!"
Even though I had gotten quite used to having long hair its nice when someone else notices it and compliments you.

Yeah! Congratulations, to you. I like the length and health of your hair. So glad to hear and read that you feel good about your lovely hair and believe the journey is/was worth it.
