I have been natural for 2 years now, and recently, I've been noticing my co-workers relaxed hair and how healthy it is. I started to miss how my hair would brush against my shoulders, and how good it felt when I would get touchups and how light my hair felt on my head. I missed getting my hair wrapped and wearing it out in a doobie, and I missed how I would get my hair done in flat twists when I was about due for a touchup.

I had to call my friend/co-worker a few minutes ago to ask her how much it would cost to get my hair relaxed at the salon she goes to. She knew that I have been considering getting it relaxed, and even taunting me jokingly. But when I told her, she was shocked  !!! My plan was to continue to be natural for another year to see how long my hair would be, but I've been tempted by the "creamy crack" !

:look: I enjoyed being natural-I loved all of my braided styles and how curly my hair was...but now I know how to take care of my hair just from following the advice of my LHCF girls! I will incorporate stretching my touchups to at least 3Xs a year, MTG with my shea butter and other ingredients, wear my hair in protective styles, moisturize, moisturize, moisturize, and basically watch my hair grow! I'm ready to take this step, and tomorrow, I'll feel like a new woman!!!!!!!! I will post pics in my fotki album tomorrow evening!

Hey Queenie, Control Freak and Ms Portgual :D

Pics are in my Fotki page...

I went to a domincian salon and the lady used Optimum Super No Lye Relaxer...she gave me a roller set, I sat under the dryer for 30 minutes, got my ends trimmed (not drastically) and blew my hair out (this is the only time I will have her do that-I wanted to see my length). I plan to go to the salon once every two weeks and if necessary, they can blow out my roots. Other than that, they can wrap my hair after taking out the rollers. I still plan to use my shea butter and mango butter concotions for moisture. My shampoo and conditioner of choice will be Kenra Moisturizing or NTM if I run out of Kenra....

Let me know what you guys think?

You and Catsuga are making me nervous  !

I know for me, when I relaxed again back in 2001 after being natural since 1994 about 1 week later I longed for my natural hair back so I had to transition all over again.

I admire anyone with healthy hair, regardless of texture, so if I want straight hair I figure stay natural, I can always get a press and curl and then go back natural when the thrill is gone.

I hate Optimum too. It's very drying. I used it (super) for years. Now I use Mizani. :yep:
